Ideal Wet/Dry Vacuum for the Novice Detailer

Hey guys,

I've been recently searching the forums for an ideal wet/dry vacuum and I'm quite confused considering there are so many reputable ones out there. I realize it ranges from the Bissell LGCM, to the Craftsman, to the Rigid by Home Depot, and even the Fein wet/dry vacuums.

I was hoping I could get some personal opinions on what would be the best solution for the novice detailer. I'm really just looking for a short and sweet answer that is the best bang for the buck. Thanks.

Rigid was on sale before the holidays at Home Depot and it featured a LIFETIME guarantee. It has a strong suction and I've been very pleased so far with it.

I got a shop-vac 3HP hang up one that I can mount to the wall (now if I would ever just get around to actually MOUNTING it to the wall....) :o

I've had one of the larger RIGID's for a couple of years now. Use it regularly for all sorts of things and, as yet, have had no troubles with it of any sort. Buy with confidence.

The Shop-Vac does not convert to a blower does it?

So far, the poll says Ridgid... sounds like this is what I might be getting unless someone else says otherwise.

Currently, I'm just using a standard household vacuum . It's a PITA to lug around. I hope I can make my decision soon.

Im using a 5.5 hp shop vac. I believe its a 12gal tank. It dosnt fit in my trunk, but I dont expect to do mobile detailling. If i do, then the tank sits in my back seat. No biggie.
