I'd like to hear Kevin Browns instruction and thoughts about HD UNO and cutting paint

Great review Kevin, just curious how you arrived at the number, just an observation or did you measure with something? I've had on my todo list forever to do a test of 105 vs UNO with a fixed weight on the DA and get some before and after paint measurements, just curious if you had beat me to the punch.

An observation. It went something like:

"Okay, lets see how we do with M105.

Prime the disc, set 'er down, fire it up.

Aaaall right, there we go... clearing a bit... another pass.... OH!

Wow, okay, that was a lot faster..."

Like that.

It also leveled the panel better.

Meaning, there was nary a hint of shined up "sanding texture" present.

I suspect that if you took measurements, (and the measuring device was able to discern the difference), you may see a bit more paint removed if you tried to level to the same degree with HD Uno.

Thanks for testing it out Kevin. Interesting results. I am glad that you gave the Ceros some of the spotlight in your testing too because you answered some of the questions that I would have asked about it. I am mainly using M-105 and D-300 in my shop currently, with a pretty big selection of different finishing polishes in case I get a show car to work on. While I do get some customers that don't mind paying me to be anal retentive in my paint corrections, most just want a quicker service while higher in quality than what some of the other local places are providing. I think I'll just stick to what I have been using as it's the most efficient that I have been able to be. Thanks for taking the time to review the HD UNO. While it does seem to be a nice product for a lot of folks, I just don't see where it can provide any improvements in my process.

Thanks Kevin.

I too don't see a place in my arsenal for UNO. I have M101, M105, and M205 from Meguiar's plus various other finishing polishes. I don't think UNO can do a better job at any step of the process than what I already have available.

I looked up D-300 in the Acronym Decoder and did not find it.

What is D-300?

Thank you.

D300 is the compound by Megs to work with the MF pad system, it's the cutting compound that's slightly less cut than M105.
