My old way of cleaning/dressing tires was to wash with and old sponge and wheel cleaner.
I bought a tire and wheel brush - WOW. I use way less dressing and the tires look much darker. Not to mention all the crap that came out of the old tires.
Maybe this was common knowledge here... just sharing something I learned.
