I was painting my calipers so...

I figured that it would be a good time to see what I could do with my rims.
They get cleaned regularly when I wash but I always thought that something was lost when it came to the inside of the rims.

Nothing really severe just hit it a few times with EO A2Z and some lite claying then gave it 3 hits with PB's Wheel Sealant.

I think that the rims came out looking pretty decent for 5YO stockers.

Thanks for looking

Nice work and great illustration IMO that wheel cleaner is that what you used on the tires as well?

I also need to paint the calipers on my BMW what paint did you use and did you mask everything off before you painted...how hard a job is this? take a long time?

Thanks

Did you remove the caliper to paint it? It looks pretty good. I clean the inside of my wheels on every wash. It's harder with my winter wheels because I have to move the car to get to the place where my calipers won't allow a brush in there. I think it's well worth the extra time.

Totally worth the time...last time that I had my tires rotated the guy asked if my rims where new...no...they are 3 years old...he said they are the cleanest he had ever seen...I said look wells...LOL:D

Dave, I just sprayed the A2Z on the whole thing and let it dwell for a few minutes then use a wheel brush and hose off almost no effort involved.

As for the calipers I used the Duplicolor caliper paint (spray can). It cost me about $7 from the local Autozone. I was doing my brakes at the same time, but on my car it's so easy it's not even funny just took out 2 bolts and the pad assembly came right out. Then I put a plastic bag over the rotor and re-bolted the assembly back on (W/O the pads) sprayed them up waited about an hour (for each side) to dry all the way and put everything back together.

It's really not difficult at all and does make for a nice clean appearance.

Good luck with yours

Thanks my BMW really needs this done..with the new rims that I put on the car the whole inside part of the car is exposed and looks terrible to me...I'd bet that most people don't even notice

Came out lookin' nice. I did the same a while back but used Megs wheel bright and a brush, went through that caked on brake dust like a hot knife through butter. Didn't do the claying thing.

Thanks again for the kind words.
One of the other benefits of painting the calipers (other than looking good) is that they clean up real easy.
Even the inside of the rims clean up rather quickly after they got a thorough cleaning, I sure the 3 coats of wheel wax didn't hurt either :D
