I wanted to yell when I saw my wife come home with the car like that, but I didn't.

As a matter of fact I didn't know what to do:nixweiss

So I took my car to a bodyshop to have it estimated:

2500USDollars to repair that:sosad

What happened,

Well , my dear wife drove through a half open fence and when she heard something istead of stopping and reversing she gave a bit more gas ... (she kind of paniked)

Hopefully this time next week all is repaired

sadly greeting

Just remember to use body shop safe products on the new paint for about 2-3 months, just to be safe. If the shop has a spray booth it will be a little less. You need to wait for the paint to cure before you apply an wax to it.

I would stick with a body shop safe hand glaze for now, wait about 2 months, then wax.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

I bet your wife feels rotten and needs a hug.

LOL :D

I'm laughing, but I agree with Taxlady. Sorry to hear about the damage, but (I hate to say this) it's only a car. Glad it wasn't worse and your wife was safe.

Christiaan,

As a fellow MPV owner I can almost feel the pain. Especially when my wife says things like "It's just a CAR Nathan!!!!" Man that gets me fired up! I am glad nobody got hurt and I hope they can do a professional and speedy repair!!

On a side note, I am getting the rail dust taken off of my hood and roof on Tuesday. I am very nervous about them scratching the paint!!!! I am going to take before and after pics to make sure.

My plan was not to touch the new paint (exept washing) for about 2 months and then put a few layers of Z on it.

I will need some luck with the weather 'cause Fall has entered in all of his glory:D

Taxlady and HoneyGold:my wife felt pretty rotten about it.As all accidents it was a stupid one and unintentional , so as the title of the threat says : I wanted to yell ,but I didn't.No need in making things worse.I know for sure that my dear wife will be more carefull in the future.

BTW: it is her first accident in 16 years of driving , so , I'm not complaining.
