Hello all,

I have a black 2000 Eddie Bauer Explorer. I keep it waxed regularly, and wash it about once a week. Well, I bought a clay bar and want to clay it. However, I have a question.

How do yall clay your car? What process do you get the best results with, or think is the easiest? I've seen that some people wash, rinse, then while they're washing again, they clay at the same time. Others just use the spray that comes with the clay. What does everyone recommend I do?

there are many ways to clay. Some take more time then others. Here is what i do. I wash the car like normal. Rinse the car off. Proceed to clay with just water on the car, no lube. Then rinse off what i clayed. Dry it and move on, works for me

You could could dry the car after washing and clay the car by panels with you lube.

You could spray your lube on your fresh rinsed car for added lube.

I am about to take my first venuture into claying as well and this is what I was planning on doing. Wash the car and rinse down. Without drying the car, begin to clay using the remaining water and lube spray as needed. The claying will be done from the front of the car to the back.

Once the claying is complete, I plan to wash the car again and dry. At that point I will begin my next process of UPC and then UPP.

I haven't placed my order for products yet so I am not sure when I will get to this but that is my plan as of right now.

I wash a panel and then with all the suds NXT has on the panel I will clay it. Its not to hard. FWIW last night while claying my car as a perfectionist I used the clay magic lube It worked fine. I only use the Lube when im working on trouble areas were lubricicity wont last while working.

I wash, rinse, either suds up the panel again or use the lube (depending on surface temperature), and clay from top to bottom and side to side (pulls horizontally imbedded particles out too). I then either rinse or wipe off the QD. I personally prefer QD because I use it while drying anyway and I can work on a 1 square foot area if the paint is hot and wipe it off afterwards.
