I wanna try Vanilla Moose, can it be bought locally (Chicago)?...and is it that good?

This weekend, I wanna try switching from my regular Zaino to a couple of layers of Vanilla Moose, then either topping it with Zaino or possibly PS21S or Nattys. There are so many products I want to try, but everyone on this board raves about Vanilla Moose....so that will be first on my list. Again, my Cobra is white (about 1/2 year old), so I'm gonna try anything and everything to make it look like it was just painted.

So far I've....

Megs #9 with PC (orange pad...start at 3 then get up to full blast)

IZ Metallic Polish with PC (white pad)

Spray down with cold water....wait one day, then Z5 x 2, then Z2 x 2.

I wonder if VM, because its a glaze, would shine better:confused:

Not sure if you can buy it locally, but you can get it on the net. VM is not layerable. VM will leave a nice gloss to your white car. Then you can top it with Natty's or P21S.

What John says about topping with Natty's or P21S. I don't think Zaino would bond properly on top of VM.

If you can't find it locally here is just one of many places to get it on-line: http://www.exceldetail.com/

You say your Cobra is only 6 months old? Does it have swirls, etc. that need to be removed, or are you just wanting to clean up the paint before VM/wax?

Not sure if I'd hit your car with #9 and the orange pad. You want to start with the least agressive product/pad and then step up if needed. I'd use a polish pad to start out with.

I'm also not sure about the combo of #9 followed by 1ZMP, but I'll let someone more familar with those two products add their suggestions.

The car is a 2003.....I bought it 6 months ago, but it was a left over that the dealer took delivery of in December of 2003.....so it sat outside from December 2003 until May of 2004. I Did the Zaino Clay bar then I used the 1Z MP when I bought my PC from detailersparadse.com. I then did the #9 with the orange pad from detailersparadse.com, about 2 weeks later. Then I put the Zaino on top of that. Then over the last month or two I've been layering the Zaino.

I'm not really looking for protection...the Cobra only comes out to play when the weather is nice....otherwise, its a garage queen. So I'm looking for a glaze or something to really make the paint as wet looking as possible. The Zaino is good, but I keep hearing about Poorboys and Vanilla Moose. So after searching and researching, it seems that Vanilla Moose is what I'm looking for.

Vanilla Moose is my favorite glaze. Very wet looking and slick. My suggestion would be to apply it using a polishing pad and a speed of 5-6. I doubt Zaino would bond to it, but something like Natty's or Meguiars #16 would work very nicely. Both look quite wet on white paint.
