I did "full" Meguiar's treatment on my cars hood today.

I started with M-09 (used buffer), this took ~30min.

Followed by M-07 (used buffer), took also ~30min.

Then I applied M-26 and let it dry for a moment and buffed it out with a buffer also.

The hood has never been so nice!!! :bow :bow :bow

The hood shines now like...like... can't say what would be as shiny as it is. :xyxthumbs

This was my first time I used Meg's and I can definately say that this wasn't the last. I can't wait for tomorrow so I can do the roof and the trunk lid. :D

Hopefully by the end of the week the whole car is done this same way.

:wavey

All thumbs up for MEGUIAR'S :up

I have no digital camera and my only friend with digital camera is at work right now so I was not able to get pic's.

Hopefully at the weekend I can borrow his camera and take pic's then when I'm continuing the job!!!:nixweiss

Just did basically the same thing last weekend.

Meg-07 by hand (tiring)

First new car and my first detailing ever, it came out fantastic. :D

It rained yesterday and I went out to the parking lot to check the car and found the rain beaded hundreds of tiny, little droplets. It was very cool to look at. Nobody elses car in the lot did that. I stood there looking at those water beads for like 5 minutes before going back inside. My neighbors think I'm a total freak. 1100 miles on my car, 4 washes and a full interior and exterior detail, not to mention the 5 times a day I check for bird poop and to see if people are parked too close. I'm inclined to agree with them. Freak! :nixweiss

BTW, no pics here either. No digicam yet.

Hey Mulva,

Does it still smell like shrimp scampi in your car, after you MIL dropped a few pieces on your floor? :D

Oh man, I spent 2 days on that thing. It's back to normal now. I used 303 Fabric Guard on the seats and carpet and I think it saved me. I was so mad, I swear sometimes she does these things on purpose. I'm all riled up again just thinking about it.

The wagon looks great now, but smells just...ok. The biggest loss in the whole ordeal was my poor little MF towel. My mom-in-law scooped up the shrimp scampi with it, and did me the "favor" of putting it through the regular wash, and a high dryer cycle with a bounce sheet. Bye-bye MF. She did apologize like 100 times for the car though.

Thanks for caring. :D

I understand very well the way you protect your baby. I, too, check mine out frequently and I too NEVER want some jerk to ding me. I walk 100 yards, at least, to find a parking place that I feel secure with...and then I am not comfortable since I know there are jerks that just swing open there doors with NO regard for what's around them. Keep up the good work and it is nice to know I have company....at least we care...right?

Welcome Ikabob and mulva....

Meguiar's user here to.... all hand applied (so far). Love it, and I park our new car as far away as I can, too! Still got a door ding when it was two-months old from our jerk apartment neighbors.

Oh well....:D

I'm about to detail my neighbor's new Audi for the first time:D

I was planning on using #9 2.0 followed by Gold Class, since I already have them. Anyone try this on a dark color? Does it work nicely??

I used Meguiars on my dark regal:

Color is graphite metallic - depending on light, will look black, brown, or dark grey.

Steps used - wash (I'm ashamed, I use deep crystal, but I'm almost out of my gallon), medallion paint cleaner, #7 glaze, and gold class liquid.

Just wondering, why ashamed of using Deep Crystal car wash:nixweiss ? I've been using Megs Gold Class wash but purchased a gallon of the Deep Crystal at Wally World and can't find anything wrong with it. It doesn't smell as nice as the Gold Class and the suds are not quite as dense but it does make plenty of suds and certainly cleans the car just fine.

NattyBumppo - It was sorta meant tongue in cheek, but I'm realizing I'm using probably way more shampoo than I should to get the suds I want out of it. Now, that's probably a side effect of my local "off the scale" hard water, but still. Actually, the Deep Crystal IS pretty good shampoo, feels very slick to me, smells nice, and certainly works to get the dirt off the car! It's also cheap, and I can get it just about anywhere...

I know what you mean about hard water. We had softener and PH neutralizer systems installed a few years back and it made a huge difference. Like you said, since the systems were installed we use a fraction of the amountf of detergents and soaps that we used to.

I'm a Meguiars user and have never been disappointed with any of their products. Last weekend I broke out the PC and did the Medallion Paint Cleaner, #9 2.0, #7 and #26 routine on my White Cobra following a chip filling session. The results were spectacular even for a white car. I was going to go with some Zaino, but for the summer I'll stick with the old stand-by Meguiars.:up

I did the roof and the trunk lid same way as I did the hood (mentioned in the first post). And I think the quality is getting better every time! :bow :xyxthumbs :up

I'm impressed!!!
