Its go great when everything comes together for perfection! For the past few days, i've been gathering tools and supplies for a major detail. Tomorrow @1:00 i'm picking up my new (to me) BMW 325is! I'm excited and to top it all off, just looked outside and found a package from Detailers Paradise waiting for me! My Einszett stuff came! i have UP, PP, MP, and Glanz Wax.

This is my dilemma ... i want to go at it right away, but the 1Z stuff says not to use it in sunlight. I have no garage and it would be afternoon by the time i get to it ... should i wait til Sat? and start early before its gets blistering hot? I don't want the heat to affect anything. what's the worst polishing in partial sun could do?

and what is the gen. concensus of applying Glanz Wax ... spray onto foam aapplicator? or microfiber? not sure how to go about that because its sooo thin. And will it bond to carnauba. I realize that GW will not really improve w/ carnauba overtop because it would strip the GW ... could i put down some carnauba after the MP and top w/ Glanz??

wow, i love the thought of spending a few days doin all this!

You are getting me hyped for the detail I'm about to do tomorrow :D

I pour the glanz wax into a small spray bottle and squirt it onto an applicator, definetly go with the foam.

MP contains carnauba, so yes glanz wax will bond to carnauba but I wouldn't apply it over another carnauba product. And if you were to apply a paste carnauba over glanz wax the carnauba wouldn't remove glanz. Lots of people top glanz.

I've not tried the 1Z polishes in direct sun, but most of the meg's polishes I've tried turn to glue in the sun. Very tough to remove the residue. Also, the carriers may evaporate or flash before the abrasives break down enough. I'd do half tomorrow evening and the other half sat morning.

I used 1Z MP in the late afternoon. It wasnt direct sun on the vehicle but it was hot and the surface was hot to the touch and it went on and came off no problem at all.

If this is your first wax I would wait a day and try to do it in the morning WHAT is one more day.I wax in the early morning when it is cooler out

thanks guys,

i know what s100 does in heat and i can maneuver around those effects, i just wasn't sure what the 1Z stuff would do in sun/heat. I'm gonna be very thorough with this detail, so i'll take advantage of morning and evening ... and to interior/carpet stuff when the sun is beating down on me.

I'll have to test how i like topping GW and see if it does deepen the paint enough visibly. GW isn't exactly a sealant, rather a "synthetic" wax. The sealant+carnauba method i think is safe to call proven, but i'll just experiment w/ my stuff!

t minus 13.5 hours ....
