Except for lbls1 who wants me to use it on the previously referred-to vehicles ;)

Heh heh, couldn't resist :p

But seriously.. yeah, unless somebody is getting a finish as close to flawless as the paint can stand (and that's under demanding lighting, not fluorescents and probably not under just halogens either) then it'd be a complete waste of money. And I can't help but wonder about using it on customers; vehicles- will they pay for a difference that they almost certainly won't appreciate? (Yeah, an expert, looking at paint they're familiar with, would appreciate the difference, but those folks are few and far between.)

AHHHHHHH HAAAAAAA ....

My friend is in fine form!!!!!! Accumulator buddy!!!! Here is where I stand with the case of the original paint...as well as addressing the rift about prep work being essential.

First of all, I believe Ron stated it. You will need to have the prep right for your paint, because the EGZymols, especially the white carnauba compounds will amplify your paint issues...more so than many of the other lsp's that I've had experience with. You do not want to put the zymol on heavy swirls or poorly prepped paint in hopes that it will cover the mistakes. An EGZ will not do this for you. The EGZ carnaubas are less forgiving and will not hide moderate issues. Just as many of their higher level waxes can bring out hidden paint rendering qualities, they can also show up some of your inherent paint limitations, including missed swirl lines etc.

Now, in contradicting this last statement, and to my friend Accumulator. In the spirit of keeping everything original, I would not recommend doing anything that would risk ruining your paint condition, especially if you feel that the paint would not tolerate an abrasive preparation. However, you should definitely do your best to prep the paint with the most appropriate means, such as with hand polishing and with zymol's cleaner and filler product. With a optimally prepped paint surface, you can still enjoy the talents of an EGZ, just as long as you know your paint limitations (we ALL have our limitations, even though we don't like admitting them!)

Now....see Accumulator...I told you that you couldn't get rid of me that easily!!

Heh heh!!!! Lol!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if you had to wait Mike. Blame my employer for banning the Internet. I have to wait a whole day during the week to get updated.

I am excited that this is Finally going to be a reality!!!!! I can imagineits cold up there, and if its too cold to do a full-out detail, then I guess you could wait until spring. Maybe you could do a quickie with hand prepping someone's car, and then the Vintaaaaaghe...just to wet your taste buds!!!

its getting cold here, heck we had snow last night. the great part about calgary is that we get chinooks, it wont be too too long before we have values inthe plus' should be nice enought to do an onr wash, and detail.

plus my buddy owns a coin operated wash and he lets me wash it there for free :lol (dont worry i bucket wash), I also get to polish and stuff, its all heated so life is good... i will find a way to use vintage

That's great. Wish I had that kind of luxury. Although I have a garage, it isn't heated so it can get brutally cold in there. Thus my waxing season will end on November as it usually does. I'm scheduled to give the signature car a (perhaps the last this season) Vintage session this friday (you don't want to know how I have to schedule everything!!!!!).

But the good thing is that vintage lasts and it looks great when its old.

that sucks your car is getting put away, we have already done that with my dads jag, so no pics of it and vintage till summer.

Im really looking forward to seeing how long vintage lasts, i have a few cars that need waxing  it will be a good test in the harsh calgary winter :)

Well not exactly put away. I'll have it out once in a while when there's no snow, salt or rain, but in terms of joyriding and trips (and detailing) then ya I'd say it sucks. Also the sun angle is trickier so no bright pics unless I just get really lucky!

Yup I guess the calgary winter would make a great proving ground!

calgarydetail- What are you planning by way of prep?

lbls1- It just figures that the two vehicles I'd consider using this stuff on can't take abrasive prep :sadpace:

my car needs a good polish, and the wolfgang sealent needs to be stripped. (its like 2 or 3 weeks old).

I have some menzerna i have not tried so I think i will give it a shot, then I willapply hd-cleanse, yeah i know its a pita. :furious: . Then i was going to wax...ohh and i will clay before the polish. I can get the elasti clay up here soi will use that :woot2: (sory had to tease)

dont worry when it comes, and i have time to work on my ca there will be like a million pics

HAHA! I could picture it being something like this.

Calgarydetail: Peeks out window

UPS: Rolls up in front of house, gets package and walks to the door

Calgarydetail: Breaks the front door down or jumps out a window, Bolts to the UPS person "gimme, gimme, gimme"

UPS: "calm down, calm down" Gives calgarydetail package and runs away

Calgarydetail: Runs inside house locks himself in a room, opens the box, pulls out the vintage. "Yessss, yesss, my preciousssssssss"
