I haven't been this happy in 5 years.

I actually like UR because it is smaller, which would be a huge reason to go there. I guess it's a matter of having a name behind me, or having to make a name for myself. I'm willing to work hard to establish myself wherever I go.

They both have their positives and negatives. It's a big decision, but I'm leaning on saving money for pharmacy/med school. It's the difference between having some debt and having a huge amount of debt. I always said that I would go to Rochester if they named the right price, but they didn't name the right price.

I'm going to talk to a few more people and then make a decision whether or not to send my tuition deposit. I guess I could be squandering an opportunity, but I think I can afford myself many others. :)

Congrats Corey! I think you'd enjoy Rochester, I thought the area was great when I visited. Another bonus is the Finger Lakes very close by. Some great driving and of course wineries if you're into that sort of thing. Beautiful countryside and even abandoned military bases for you to take photos at. lol I know you'll make the right decision. Mmm, weren't you going for a RN degree when I chatted with you?

I almost forgot, wouldn't it be something if the letter was addressed to Corey Bit Spank? I can see the letter.. "Dear Mr. Bit Spank, we are happy to inform you.." Sorry, doesn't take much to amuse me some days.

All the best to you!

Did a "transfer day" today. Left very unimpressed. I love the campus, but they don't offer tours of any of the science facilities. I haven't run into this problem at other schools (they actually loved that I asked at Cornell). Definitely not what I'm looking for. I just felt out of place.

Pretty campus. Parking is nonexistant. "We're trying to preserve the pedestrian atmosphere." Okay, but what about those of us who drove here for just the day. :( It just made me feel very unwelcome. Other schools have made a big hoopla, "Parking here for ________!"

The atmosphere is just not something that would be conducive to a good undergrad education for me. I need diversity--people from all different demographics. I just don't think I would get that there. :)

Sometimes I think the parking/traffic engineers are second on the list (after the know-nothing-about-the-business-I'm-in-but-have-my-MBA-did-I-get-my-exorbitant-bonus-this-quarter-yet guys running corporate America) causing the ruiniation of the world. Sorry (?) you weren't so thrilled with the campus/atmosphere.
