I got my Opti-Seal....IMO it's the same as Z-CS

I got my OS today with XMT 360. As some of you know, I'm a dedicated Zaino user.

So, I wanted to try OS on my hood and bumper.

I used XMT 360 (AIO) to remove my Zaino off of my hood. I didn't want to use Z-AIO since I'm just testing out OS (looks). Then I used the free yellow foam applicator pad from AutoGeek to apply OS on. I've never used a foam pad to apply Z-CS, but I think I like the foam pad better now since it's spreads more and doesn't absorb much product on the cloth pad. It took me about 4 or 5 sprays to cover the whole hood/bumper.

OS dried really fast as you can see temp inside my garage....

OS looks the same, but does give somewhat of a wet look.

This is my hood. If you notice the haze on the paint that it's just my clearbra

Looks like Z-CS to me....

So now I tried OS.. I'm not blown away by it, but it's a good product. I guess it didn't blow me away because it's so similar to Z-CS.

The best thing about OS is it didn't haze much like Z-CS, but I've never used a foam pad to apply Z-CS, so it might just be the same.

I was expecting a little more of a wet look from OS, but IMO Z-CS fulfills that task already.

I will somehow fit OS with Zaino since I'm half way done with my Z-CS. I guess I'll test the durability side by side on my door panels next time, to see if which will last longer. Other than that, I hope you guys enjoy my photos.

Please advise.. if I did something wrong.. then let me know.

I think I was supposed to use XMT 360 by PC, but I wanted to hurry and try OS. I hope the 360 did not intend to mess with OS's looks..

If its the same as Z-CS, then OS only makes sense for you..more product for the money.

Does it look like Z-CS or does it look like ZAIO topped with Z-CS?

It's hard to say....I would say it looks like ZAIO topped with Z-CS, but I can't really tell the differance when I used OS. I can tell you that it has a more slight wet look, but not by much. OS is nice though... and you're right! More product for the money :D

It is hard to tell on the color car you have....IMO it looks fantastic. But all the pics on this site look great. XMT 360 is a great product too, and it smells wonderful. I think it worked better for me (os) than CS. But that is on a black car and a white car. If they work the same for you, stick with the one that gives you the best protection or the cheaper one.

Very true!! but OS is cheaper and you get free pads. Since I like to slap coats of Zaino (monthly now) then it would be wise to buy OS for that price.

So you compared ZAIO and CS to XMT360 and OS?

Not side by side, only did my hood and bumper with OS. OS is the first Optimum product I used, so I have no other Optimim product to seal prior to OS.

I think I like Z-CS and OS a lot. Both are different yet the same as far as looks. Now the big question is HOW LONG IS DURABILITY.

This is my favorite combo... Of course prep clay, use PC (Sonus SFX-1/ Z-PC)

Z-AIO

x2 Z5p w/ZFX

x1 Z2p

Z-CS

next day Z-8

I did this on my spoiler and trunk just last week...

Macruz,

How about a 1/2 and 1/2 on your hood? XMT360/OS on one half, and ZAIO/CS on the other?

I was thinking doing that on my front and passanger doors. I should make it fair if I had a Optimum seal and top it off with OS vs. ZAIO and ZCS, then we'll have an even match.

Well, my only suggestion would be to use Poliseal instead of XMT 360, therefore:

PS + OS v. ZAIO & ZCS

or...

OP + OS v. ZPC + ZCS, etc............

Edit: Uhh, yep what he said ^.

I've just checked out my hood just a few mins ago, and as the hour passes it's been about 5hrs since application, the hood and bumper seems fully dry, and I notice a little more of a wet look now. It seems to improve looks better after time progresses.... just like Z-CS.

Hmm... I wonder if I can use Z-8 on top of it tomorrow??

Looks good to me.

Don't see why you are so concerned with durability if you are re-applying every month. Hope that doesn't sound like I'm being a jerk. It's just that I don't worry too much about durability since I can't seem to go too long without re-applying. ;)

It's cool. I just like to apply stuff on my car. One day i'll get tired and just leave it alone.. for example.. i don't play video games anymore.:bounce

I just tried it (OS) on my silver van late this afternoon and am pretty impressed. I think has more gloss and looks a little wetter (on silver) than Z-CS did over Z-AIO. I also think it feels a little slicker. It finally got dark on me so I'm curious to see how it looks and feels tomorrow.

Application wise I thought it was a little easier than Z-CS, but the foam pad might have been a factor since I used the Zaino terry pad with Z-CS. If OS has decent durability then Optimum has a winner on their hands. Z-CS didn't shed dirt as well as I had hoped so it will be interesting to see how well OS does in that department. Like you said, both products are good and we're fortunate to have two products like this arrive so close together so we can choose the one that works best for us.

I might have liked Z-CS better if I had tried it over some Z-2/5P, and I might still try that in the future. Either way, with both products you can't beat the ease of a quick wash and then a fast application where you WOWA.

I got to work just now. The finish looks the same as lastnight. It's as slick as Z-CS IMO. I parked in the garage but I might be able to see it under the sunlight this afternoon.

As far as shedding dirt... I'll have to check it out when it rains. The 1st I applied Z-CS in Feb it rained the following day. I drove around and when it dried, my hood was not dirty at all. It did not leave any dirt, or waterspots. That's what really impressed me using Z-CS.

Like I said, OS didn't haze much like Z-CS, but I've never a foam pad with Z-CS. Next I'll try a foam pad with Z-CS and I hope it will be the same.

I really like OS, but since I have both I might have to rotate the products. :nixweiss

As far as base coats and sealents, Z-AIO, Z2p, Z5p will always be used on my car.

I'll try and use Z-8 over OS and see how it looks.....
