I Give Up on Klasse SG now what?

Some people can see the difference and some can't. Some people can tell the difference between Coke & Pepsi. Some can't. If everything did look the same, I seriously doubt there would be so many of us on these forums discussing our likes and dislikes.
 
The people who can see a difference need to work on their prepping a bit more. Once the art of prepping is mastered, the final product has little impact. :)



It's like in karate kid, when Mr Miyagi has Daniel waxing on and off. It wasn't the product that won Daniel the tournament, it was the technique. :D

IMO, AIO is an abrasive polish. The abrasives are light, but they are there. I do not recommend using AIO to try to remove anything more than light swirling, though.
 
Prep is definitely the most important step to detailing, but added appearance effects can be had with different products and product combinations.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you there. Just my own personal experience. Yours may be different though. But that's what makes this all so interesting. :)
 
What products are you using? All sealants? Any sealant/carnauba combinations? Any glaze/carnauba combinations?
 
Tried a couple of glazes under wax. That was a while ago. Also tried klasse, zaino, nxt, etc, etc. Boy this car care thing is addictive! :D My wallet hurts just writing this post! But anyway, I didn't see much of a diff, so long as my finish looked great before I waxed.
 
I can see both sides of the argument. You have to look pretty critically to see a difference under certain lighting and angles, but in side by side comparisons with different products, with similar prep, I can certainly see a difference. How much money that slight difference is worth is another deal though :nixweiss
 
my experience with AIO is that they have minor swirl hiding ability too.



Etched water marks or tuffer stains may not be completely removed by AIO.



As Z28 mentioned, i also thk that AIO s main purpose is chemical cleaning. If uve got tuff stains, u need something more abrasive to get it out b4 SGing.



About the AG twins, i find them fantastic, espeically EGP, the only thing that made me switch was the longgg cure time > 2 hrs and the resultant white powdery residue.



But i would rank EGP as 1 of the tougher sealants out there.
 
Oh and i dunno bout using a QD with Klasse SG....some guys have complained that diff QDs can cause streaking.



When i was still with Klasse, i sprayed some distilled water to the applicator pad b4 using SG. Worked fine for me w.o. streaking WOWO method!
 
This is true for a couple of colors for me--BMW's Khalahari Beige and Infiniti's Diamond Graphite.



Everything else, including pearl white and ss white shows marked differences with comprehensive preparation--especially dark colors. Wolfgang gave my maroon Accord a decidedly deep look but added a silvery glow when viewed indirectly. AIO-->#16 on the same car has a great soft shine but not nearly as much depth as Klasse SG (yes, really) or PS. My car has NEVER been shinier than its pre-winter Zaino Z2 treatment.



The extreme example is my father's pearl white LS400--NXT makes the paint much whiter, while EX deepens the pearl aspect and Z2 simply looks very very clean and highlights the sharp creases on the car's nose and along the profile.



While I agree that prep is most of the process, even a side-by-side comparison on a body panel can reveal the differences.

sometimes the differences aren't real apparant until the car is in bright sunlight-thats where NXT gives its plastic sheen-it also depends on the color as well-remember that the color is the amount of light bouncing back at you-adding a sealant will diminish that light by X % or change the tint of the light slightly unless what you have placed on it is 100% optically pure
 
Z2Pro. It goes on easily, looks great and is very durable. After 5 months on my Dolphin Gray Audi A4, the water still beads well.



Use Z7 car wash weekly and Z6 QD after washing.

even the Bill method, i gave up on it too..



I've gone to WG and UPP as sealants with Pinnacle topper



but for all my compound work, its Poorboys and Meg's DACP
 
I have used AG twins on my car, gives a very glass like hard finish, i have used Zaino on my car gives a much more reflective, metal type finish, I think products look very different to each other, not subtle differences either in some cases. This weekend unless I am detailing someone elses car, I will be trying IP AIO and either SG or VM to top my car. I am absolutely postive it will look different to the other products i have used on AXE already.
