I don't think this one will buff out . . .

I would think you are in a better situation at this point regarding the vehicle and I wish your health the best!

Good luck with everything.

good luck :)

At least I guess you can look at it in a bright light... you can soon get a new vehicle!

And yea, keep on top of those doctor's appointments. Problems can pop up weeks after the accident. Early detection, as you know, is important in these cases. But overall, the biggest health hurdle to overcome is the psychological one. I don't have any advice for that; it'll just take time.

Wow those are some serious internal damage. Honestly it doesnt look thAT bad from the pictures. Glad you are OK.

I just dropped my car at the bodyshop, it was hit pretty hard from the rear by a GMC Envoy. I wonder if they'll find something underneath all my damaged sheet metal like yours:(

. . . I got the call from the insurance adjuster today & after the initial estimate of $8,000 to repair my '04 CR-V, they started looking "inside" to see what hidden damage there was. It included the left frame rail & the engine cradle & I don't know what else & it has bumped the repair costs up enough for them to consider the car "unrepairable".

The car is a 2004 Honda CR-V EX with just under 30,000 miles & I think you all have a pretty good idea of the condition it was in prior to the accident. I've looked up the value on KBB, & it ranges from $17,975 (TradeIn), $20,070 (Private Party Sale) to $22,255 (Dealer Sale). Also I need to look into getting compensated for the Extended Warranty I purchased from the United Auto Group when I bought the car. I had also just put new Yokohama tires on this summer.

After seeing those pics it had front clip written all over it. Large repair!!! Go on Find Your Car: Search Form - AutoTrader.com and look up your comparable vehicle and use this to negotiate it with your insurance company. Kelly Blue Book won't help out your cause too much (IMHO) because people use it as a reference and it really shows no statistical value. The warranty company will cut you a check for the unused portion remaining on the warranty. Also give the receipt for the tires to you adjuster and he might give you a portion of the purchase price back.

***BIG THING** MAKE SURE YOU THOUROUGHLY GO OVER ALL THE OPTIONS AND THE RATED CONDITIONS OF THE VEHICLE!!! It's accuracy will help give you a fairer value. Most insurance companies rate/condition each component of the vehicle(carpet, seats, interior trim, headliner, glass, body, paint, exterior trim. engine, trans and tires). Make sure see eye to eye with the adjuster on them.

Woa that's F up man. I learned few lesson waaay back, if im the 1st one on the light, I would wait or stall for like 5-8 second, I know some arsehole behind me will blow their air horn out of their lung. But hey, I dont want some one T-boned my arse, while jumping the 1st green light like you were in a drag strip. Anyways, good thing you are alright....Oh btw, those whip lash you having now..its going stay for while. If pain still there within few days, I think you should see a doctor. Good luck on the claim and time for a new 2007 CRaVe ;)

. . . it's been six weeks & I am still fighting with my insurance company over the value of my 04 CR-V, going to physical therapy for my knee, foot, shoulder & neck strains & pains & it's still unclear on the status of the other driver's insurance :(

But on the brighter side, after four weeks of some really "interesting" dealings with local Honda dealers, I took delivery of a 2007 CR-V EX-L in Glacier Blue Metallic on Tuesday night last week. In spite of my explicit instructions that all plastic was to be left on, the lot boys were a little too anxious & had it all detailed by the time my salesman returned to work on Tuesday morning, but it does not look like they "took a buffer to it". :)

This weekend, I was only able to do a quickie clean up & topped with DG AquaWax due to the cold weather & continuing problems with my knee, but I think she's looking pretty good :)

Now I can't wait to get those wheels sealed with PB's Wheel Sealant - I'd forgotten how bad Honda brake dust is :(

Thanks again for all your good wishes :)

Should have gone for the new Rav 4, little bigger but it's like a mini rocket compared to the CR-V :D.

How much did you have to come out of pocket after the insurance settlement?

Good choice. I drove one of these after driving a Rav4 and I like them a lot more. The interior of the CR-V is in a different league than the Rav4.

norahcrv Then I'll be shopping about looking for a new 2006 Honda CR-V as I'm not crazy about the redesign that Honda has done for 2007.[/QUOTE said:
Sorry to hear that they had to write off your CR-V, I thought you didn't care for the new design? Any reason you had to get another SUV? Hope you're feeling better and don't forget to update your avatar.

klnyc - I guess I'd be the guy behind you blowing my horn. I'm all for waiting but if you're having a nap and not paying attention you'd be hearing from me. By the way, what the heck is a Subie Trebeca? Last time I was at a car show I saw a Subaru B9 Tribeca. If you're going to mention the model you could at least get the name right.

Yeah, interior in the new CR-V is so much better than the last one.

Norah, I'm glad you got it all squared away now.

I think you purchased a really nice vehicle. It one of, if not the safest, most reliable vehicle in it's class. Good luck with it.

What's the insurance company offering you for your old vehicle?
