Thanks to the review by Marc08EX, I ordered a bottle of Optimum No-Rinse Wash with Wax

Sorry for the blurry picture

I filled my bucket with 2 gallons of water and poured in 1 oz per directions on the bottle.

Based on the information in the review I decided to use a rinse bucket too. I added a little ONRW to the wash bucket so as not to dilute the wash bucket too much.

I wasn't sure how much of the solution would be needed so I had the car in the driveway in the sun. Now that I know how this works I know I could wash the car in the garage! That will be really nice in the supper hot summer time.

The car was not real dirty. I washed it last weekend. After this, I would not hesitate to use ONRW if the car was dirtier.

The product is so easy to use. I used a Bone Wash Sponge. I used my hands to wring it and then wiped the surface of the car. Followed with a buff from a Cobra Guzzler towel.

Overall I think this is a great product. I like the way it cleaned without using all that water from the hose. I like the finish it left. I will still use the hose in the future but I will use it less often! I can't say it took me any less time to wash but it sure used less water!

A few questions:

If I was going to use this method to wash a car before polish/ wax should I order a bottle of ONR without the wax?

What is the best process to wash the wheels and wheel wells? In this case, the car was not very dirty so after I washed the car, I grabbed an old MF and used the ONRW on the wheels. I sprayed Poorboy's Spray and Wipe on the wells and used an even older MF to wipe them down. Then topped the tires with PB Bold and Bright

Had the wheels been more dirty what should I have done?

Nice review. The wheel area is really the downfall to ONR. Don't get me wrong, I do rinse less washes all the time if I'm working at an apt or some place that doesn't have water, but its a pita. Ideally, you should go ahead with the traditional method on wheels, fender wells, etc and then do the rinseless wash. In the case that you don't have that option, you just have to do what you can. I can't tell you how many times a client has told me "its not muddy or anything so you should be fine" only to get there and there is mud caked in the fender wells. In fact that happened yesterday lol. All you can do is run it to a coin op car wash first, or try to wash all that crap out by hand with APC and ONR. Its a great product, but it has its limits.

Since rinseless by its nature is more for maintenance washes, I will usually wipe down the wheels with a sponge and ONR, clean the tires with Mothers Back to Black Tire Renew if i want a fresh coat of tire dressing (rather than just reapplying), and use Ultima (or concentrated ONR to wipe down the wheels.

Nice review and results!

A) I don't think it matters! Regular ONR has a fairly durable polymer (sealant) base and you can still polish after.
B) I spray with Optimum Power Clean, agitate with various brushes (dunked into the bucket of ONR constantly) and wipe dry/clean with an All Purpose and Microfiber Towel.

I too have been liking ONRWW. It works well and leaves a great finish.

  • If you want to stick with ONR specifically then I would use regular ONR pre-polishing simply because its cheaper.
  • To do wheels when doing a rinse-less wash, I spray the wheel down with either water from a spray bottle or my pre-mixed UWWP. Then I agitate with various brushes dunked into the bucket of remaining ONR constantly. I usually save the wheels for last in my rinse-less process. I transfer the ONR mixture to my dedicated wheel bucket so I don't contaminate my normal wash bucket.

I clean my wheels after washing, dump into my wheel buck, spray down with wheel cleaner(if needed) use my mothers wheel brush and then rinse with another dose from the buck. Then dry with one of my wheel rags after I do all four wheels.

I'm glad my review helped you pick up this product. It's a great product indeed.

Great write up too! Thanks for sharing your experience.
