...I bought and used Nu Finish. My entire view of the detailing industry has changed over the years and I am not a detailing snob like I once was. Father's Day weekend my father inlaw showed me that he uses Wet Glaze and old school Turtle Wax on his brand new Camaro. Years ago the Turtle Wax would of sent me into a rage inside my head followed later by a good laugh. However I've been thinking about it since then. He does everything by hand, has a new silver Mustang, black Camaro and black Challenger and they all look excellent. He uses this Turtle Wax all by hand. So if the cars looks that good is the product really that bad? This got me thinking of the cheaper over the counter waxes and got me doing a little research. NuFinish actually rated very high for durability and that's what I was looking for. And $9 for a bottle at O'Reily's how could I go wrong? I will admit this was used on a 2 week old silver Chevy Cruze. My main objective is not to be the shiniest but to protect it the best and hopefully makes washing much easier. I work for a large steel producer now and my car sits inside the plant getting who knows what all over all day long. I honestly could wash it daily. Anyway, the contaminants embedded in the paint in just 2 weeks were nuts. So I used the Nanoskin to remove those, was impressed with the Nanoskin by the way and went to the store to buy a bottle of Nu Finish. Actually had second thoughts while standing in the aisle but pulled the trigger anyway. Got back to the garage and started to go to town. I applied it using a Cyclo with white pads and removed with a microfiber. First I did the hood and waited. I wanted to make sure this stuff wasn't going to kill me trying to remove it. Came off with such ease I was amazed. And the slickness it was leaving was awesome as well. The car actually felt rough, even after clay, for a new car but after the Nu Finish it was slick as snot. I did the rest of the car in no time at all and have to make mention that I've NEVER used a product that had zero dust. I always have a tiny bit of dust to deal with but not a spec. And my microfiber still felt clean when I was done and it wasn't all gooped up. Actually was able to get through the whole car with one towel. Anyway, for those that knew me years ago this would of been a post you never would of seen me make. Now, older with different priorities and different reasons for needing to wax I am finding a whole new side to detailing I guess. LOL The real test for me will be to see how long it last and how, if at all, it aides in my washings.
