F'n Wowed me right out!!

I just followed up a Mark V compound called Kristal Kut with Zaio to finish down .... KK is pink and very abrasive. It does a great job at taking away deep swirls but Leaves the paint very Hazy... Its my cheaper alternative to Menzerna..... (I'm a dealer and some cars get Menzerna.. some dont

Before I would need to do

1 X kristal kut

1 x Megs #2 medium cut

1 X Zaino PC Fusion

1 x Zaino Z-CS

1 x Z Grand Finale

Now I find to create the same effect I can do

2 x Kristal Kut

1 X ZAIO

1 X Zaino Grand Finale

Great job Sal!! This product is in my opinion your best product in your whole line up!!

So you are telling us that ZAIO does a quicker job to remove the hazing from Kristal kut then ZPC?

Do you have some more Mark-V compounds?

Yes... 100% better.

I've always been a fan of ZPC...but only If I was laying down a layer of Z2 or Z5, as ZPC itself has left some haze on darker colors.

After Zaio.... I'm done the vehicle has at least some protection.

The point I'm trying to make is that it is going to save me a lot of time.

I have only used Mark-V's Soap, Tire shine and Kristal Kut.....

You know, now that you mention Z-PC as seeming to leave a haze, it occurs to me that this is the reason I haven't been so crazy about it. I never thought about it as a "haze," but that may well be it.

Using it on dark green, it didn't clarify the finish as much as Menzerna FPII (was using after Optimum Compound). So you are saying that Z-AIO removes the hazing when Z-PC did not? I'm surprised that Z-AIO has any appreciable cut or the ability to attain that sort of clarification.

I know what you mean..... I did it as a test of sorts and it completely surprised me..

If you are getting a cloudy or haze look when using ZPC, usually its from using too much.

gmblack... I hear what you are saying. But have you tried using ZAIO after a compound??

Hard for me to imagine using less than I did: I'm used to Menzerna, and tend to use just three pea-sized blobs on the pad, and work it until its basically gone. I do just as Mr. Scottwax told me to.;)

I bet ZAIO with an orange pad would be a very effective one step. With the spreadability you could probably work it at speed 4 or 5.

This is because it is leaving NO OILS behind like all other polishes. You are basically looking at virgin clear coat. You MUST apply a LSP to bring the beauty of the paint out. Z-AIO or FPII or... all leave behind some sort of oil or protection.

That said you cannot get a beter finish for Zaino or any LSP to bond to.

 Oh really?

What are you doing tonight?

I have used R-2000 paint cleaner and Duragloss #101 with my TT and they did a nice work with the marring and small swirls on a Volvo V70. But IMO would think that a real polish like Menzerna PO106FA, ZPC or similar would be more effective. I will try to use #101, Carlack 68 and R-2000 paint cleaner on buffer swirls/hazing. I guess that´s is just the pad who is doing the job and the cleaner is lubrication.

I will give it a try next time I have a detail at the house. I should have a black lexus LS430 on Tuesday, but that is at the customers place. I only used the tried and true when I am on location.

Are you saying that ZPC has no oils?? That would just be plain wrong.

This is what he is quoting straight from Zanio site;

I used Z-PC and now the paint looks hazy. Is this normal?

Dark color surfaces, especially black, will sometimes leave you with a slightly hazy or milky surface after using Z-PC. Z-PC Fusion does not have any fillers or oils. To make the surface crystal clear, apply your ZFX enabled Z2 or Z5 to make this milky look go away, leaving a perfect, crisp, clear, BLACK and scratch free finish.

Quoted from here:

Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover: Zaino Store

I have seen the hazy they are talking about and it is really fine scratches. I was told on soft dark color paints to use couple coats of Z5 and they will disappear also they saying the Z2 will make them "go away":nixweiss . On hard blacks or light color you can't not see the milky or hazy effect. I have not tried ZAIO after ZPC to see if ZAIO will correct it. Nor I don't get the hazy effect with 85RD either.

Why can't one get an answer to what separates out of ZPC when it sits? It's certainly not water as water would steam off when "cooked" and whatever that substance is in ZPC remains after everything else has dried. I have some pics on the home computer.

At least try it on a spot... let us know what you think.

Below is what I was talking about. This CR-V's has been brought to soft cloths its whole 4 years/ 55,000 mile life..... The first 2 are before hitting them with

1 X Mark-V Krystal Kut (about the same if not a little more abrasive the Menz. IP)

1 X ZAIO

The third is just after. 2 simple steps to take out over 90% of swirls seems pretty good to me!

I just finished doing a Onestep with ZAIO on an 05 black escape with a White Sonus pad and I was working it up to 6 then finishing off by going down gradually to 4. Its not perfect by any means but its good enough to give the customer what he asked and ultimately.... paid for!..lol
