I can see now!!!!!

I must say the factory headlights on those trucks are pretty terrible. My friend drives around with his highbeams on 100% of the time and they're less bright than my low beams, which are known to be pretty weak (Trans Am).

looks good

Thats great that you did the install, but is a NO NO to drop in kits. They are hideous and glare sucks. not to mention they look retarded.

Correct HID Set up!!!!

Nice kit. Where did you buy it? The metal case looks wicked!

The scattering is actually glare. Glaring happens 100% of the time when you install HID kits in halogen housings. This is also the reason why individual HID light bulb kits are not DOT approved. Most factory equipped HID lights are housed in projectors to reduce glare.

Don't bother with clear housings. They will only make glaring worse. What you need is this:

1994-2001 Dodge Ram Projector Headlights

Black Housing Projector Headlight (2LHP-RAM94JM-TM)

Although probably not DOT legal, it should have very clear edges

Why do aftermarket projector housings always have to look like something leftover from a Star Trek film set?

Sheesh!

BTW most of those aftermarket, Chinese, eBay projector housings have terrible optics, and actually hurt your lighting compared to the OEM reflector setup. Shouldn't be a big surprise after looking at them for more time then it takes for your eyes to focus on the hideousness.

Right on the money! You are better off polishing your oem lens than getting the Chinese junk. I tried halo lights in my 97 Integra, they didn't even make it a week before I took them out. The reflection is probably similar to someone trying to use chrome out of a spray can.

No kidding and I hate to be negative but seriously the lights on the Dodges are just fine from the factory.

But the new ones came in a really cool box!

EDIT: I dunno...this obsession with illegal lights has been around forever (30+ years)...first it was the fog/driving lights, then the non-sealed beams that took the Euro bulbs, then the overwattage bulbs for the newer headlights, now the HID's...whatever...

Crazy glare its not the lenses its your reflectors. They are meant to spread out the light of halogens, but since HIDs are much brighter, they can blind oncoming traffic. I suggest you quickly go back and aim them a bit lower!

the lenses may be junk, but they can be easily changed out for quality ones. the issue is, they're made for halogen projection, again not HID, so the cutoff is different and the optics aren't as sharp.

I did a retrofit myself, took lots of guts to cut the headlights to fit the projectors, but I'm happy I did it. got tsx projectors from The Retrofit Source (U.S.) - HID Projector Retrofit Kits, Retrofit and HID Componenents, Projectors Lens, Wiring Harnesses, Shrouds and more!

I hate seeing trucks with HID's, cars are bad enough with the glare, but then you get a vehicle that is already higher than everyone else and add in glare and beyond bright lights. heck, most truck headlights drive me nuts, no need to make them even brighter.
