I am really confused trying to get the knowledge from the people that know..

AFAIK and I could DEFINITELY be wrong, but the Klasse AIO lasts maybe a week or so?

and you're absolutely right--YMMV =]

I've been debating on which AIO I'd want to pick up for this year..and I must say, I'm partial to the KAIO

and yea i hear KSG layered is damn near bulletproof =]

Of course it's marketing skewed but here's a quote from Autopia's Store:

A single application of Klasse All-In-One lasts for months, not weeks!

Klasse All-In-One Car Polish, Car Wax and Sealant

Personally if I went the AIO route I'd at least top it with a spray wax after washing. Probably DG 501 & AW.

Someone here has done an extensive real world test of several popular AIO's. I think ZAIO proved to be the most durable.

dont make it any more complicated...

poliseal and clay 2x/yr and your good

Good point your absolutely right, but as enthusiasts we always want more...

To be honest simplicity is always better.

On my old daily, I applied KAIO and a layer of KSG, then some Collinite 915, and only washed and sprayed it with Aquawax for an entire year and it beaded up perfectly. It only stopped beading on the 13th month. I'm not sure why other guys aren't getting a long duration of protection with KAIO. I've applied it and only added Aquawax to many many cars and it lasted on average 6 months for me.

If your car is white (just looking at your signature) and you already have the Klasse twins then I wouldn't do anything except use the twins. If the car doesn't need polishing you could clay, use the AIO and SG x 2 (maybe 3 .... you can put another layer on after a weekly wash) and I guarantee you at least 6 months looking great and maybe a lot longer if you keep your car in a garage. Or you could be like the rest of us and spend a fortune chasing the ultimate product and combo.

SG has a bad rep but I have used it without any issues for many years on my wife's white CRV and her car usually looks as good as mine.....it often annoys me to no end. Just put on such a thin layer that you swear there is nothing there and it will be perfect. You can wipe off immediately or let it sit a while or overnight. I wipe off immediately.

Sure there are a few easier products to use but IMO the Klasse twins look great on white and are as durable as anything I have used ...... except Poli-Coat.

Yeah :xyxthumbs Though I seem to need more layers than many people to get really super durability (six last over a year, including winter use).

FK1000P is working out the same way, but IME it's trickier to layer and is generally less user-friendly.

Hmm...this is sorta the exact opposite of the PPG guy's quote that Mike Phillips always repeats: "Find something you like and use it often" For my bigger vehicles, I layer on the sealant and then just wash 'em for a good long time. The cars get reLSPed more often, so I guess I go both ways with equally successful results.

I'd get Meguiar's Ultimate Polish and a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Spray Wax. You will need a dual action orbital with a few pads for polishing. Read on how to polish and then, most importantly, learn how to wash your car. After you polish, put two coats of the spray wax on 1 hour a part. Then, after every other wash, just spray wax again. It only takes 10 minutes including the glass.

The spray wax is that good. I've used it for a year solid now.

Justin Murphy- What do you use to buff off the Ultimate Spray Wax? I put so much effort into my post-wash QDing that I could probably use it instead with little additional effort. I'm assuming it can be used on a not-quite-100%-dry surface, like, during the final drying, right?

My recommendation to keep your paint near perfect:

-Wash weekly with Optimum No Rinse or your favorite car wash soap. ONR makes washing faster and on a clean car, the results are superior as it has ingredients that add protection and gloss. I can wash and dry a car (including wheels in less than 30 minutes with ONR).

-Every other wash use Optimum Car Wax. You can wax your car in 10 minutes and get results equal to some of the more expensive paste waxes

-Every 4-6 months depending on conditions, clay the surface (I like clay magic clay) and then follow with Optimum Poli-seal. Poli-seal will clean your paint, reduce marring and leave a good layer of protection.

yakky, What do you think if I replace OCW with Opti-Seal like once a month?
