I am really confused trying to get the knowledge from the people that know..

This site and its members are great tons of knowledge and experience. I don't want to irritate or upset anyone just want to get feedback.. I enjoy washing my own car its the only way to get it clean the way I like it. My past cars I would take them to car washes boy was this nauseating have some stranger drive your car plus sometimes the guys cleaning it were dirty and sat inside imagine that..I have been to plenty of car washes in Northern CA have never found one that I am completely happy with they use harsh chemicals or scary looking cloths to dry the car I have even seen people open the door and stand on inside of door sills to clean the roof of the car I always wondered how door sills kick plates got broken and not to mention the crud and grime they have on there vacuum hose which enters the interiors but enough about that...I work six days a week and have basically no time but i will make time to try to wash my car once a week. Here is the question I need a wax/polish that is easy and quick but gentle enough not to cause damage to the paint I always prefer gentle products I have read and read about this topic but confused take Klasse for example its a wax its a cleaner its a sealant its all of these??? To get to the point I want to take care of my car but don't have much time barely can make the time to wash it so I need recommendations for wax/polish/sealant etc.. but it has to be easy I hate waxes that leave dust when polishing I will be doing this by hand. Thanks Autopia

KAIO is indeed a cleaner/polish/sealant. Easy to use with excellent results provided you need no correction. If you're working by hand this is one of the all-in-ones many would recommend. The longevity isn't as good as some though. For longer lasting protection Optimum Opti Seal on top is about the easiest, fastest to use with better longevity. A little pricey but a bottle will do the average car 30+ times. I suspect you'll get other recommendations but for your stated usage these are the first ones that come to mind.

As with any cleaner or polish you'll get better results and remove imbedded contaminents if you clay first. It really is worth the extra little bit of time and doesn't need to be done often.

This might be a dumb question but what happens if you dont wax and polish just wash on a regular basis and remove contaminents with clay?

lol if you don't have time--find a pro to do it for you--worth the money--after that just maintain with a simple wash and wax...

The clay by it's nature marrs paint--and it doesn't get out smaller contaminants..KAIO is good for the cleaning--but has no protection...

if you barely have time for the wash--(assuming it takes from 20-45 minutes) then I don't know if doing it yourself is in the books for you tbh...the only thing I can tell you is to maybe do one panel at a time (wash/decon/clay/polish/wax) and in about a month you'll be done (maintaining the panels you've done too)

but yea imo just hire a pro to do it for you at least hte first time and then try your best not to scuff it up...too bad xD

btw you clay alot of them cut down on wax too..that plus no waxing=nightmare waiting to happen

G37, there is a ton of reading you can do here, lots of people have their favorites. I'm in a similar position as you, but i have a bit more time, just more vehicles to deal with. I also get asked this question from friends who want to get the most bang out of their time. It sounds like you are ok with ordering stuff online, so I'll recommend stuff that is not usually available locally. The Klasse products you mentioned are great, but they require lots of time and energy.

My recommendation to keep your paint near perfect:

-Wash weekly with Optimum No Rinse or your favorite car wash soap. ONR makes washing faster and on a clean car, the results are superior as it has ingredients that add protection and gloss. I can wash and dry a car (including wheels in less than 30 minutes with ONR).

-Every other wash use Optimum Car Wax. You can wax your car in 10 minutes and get results equal to some of the more expensive paste waxes

-Every 4-6 months depending on conditions, clay the surface (I like clay magic clay) and then follow with Optimum Poli-seal. Poli-seal will clean your paint, reduce marring and leave a good layer of protection.

yup some people actually seem to like the SG...but umm..for your purposes I'd go for something that'll help you spend less time maintaining your car--Collinite 476 comes to mind...OTOH...

IF I were you and really was that busy (as the majority of the people are) I would honestly probably spend the money to have Opti-coat put down on my car (just search opti-coat) the durability on that thing is straight up ridiculous (I think some guy said 4 years?) it's scratch and marr resistant (not to be confused with scratch/mar PROOF) and it apparently sheds a ton of stuff effortlessly...I figure if you have that down...all you would really need then, is a gallon of ONR MAYBE once a year (if it's just that car, a gallon will probably last you closer to 5) a good washing mitt(and in this case i'd probably spend more on this since then you wont really need the waxes and all that)

but as Accum likes to say "it's easy for me to tell you how to spend your money"

Hi,

Yesterday I used ONR to clean my Dodge Ram 2500 4x4. This is a BIG truck. It took me about 20 minutes.

Then I sealed it with Optimum Opti-seal in about 35 minutes. This includes windows and wheels.

I would advise you to look into the opti-seal before you make your product decisions.

The opti-seal is the easiest product I've ever used.

My truck was already fairly clean so the ONR is great to make for a quick wash.

Could I be safe just using Klasse AIO every 3 to 4 months with no topper??? I have made the time to wash my car once a week. I was reading the klasse bottle and it says it protects 6 to 8 months??

More like every 3 to 4 *weeks* IME.

Don't fall for the ad-copy hyperbole. Throw a coat of some wax on top of the KAIO.

so if klasse aio lasts 3 to 4 weeks how long does the wax on top of aio last??

As long as that wax lasts. It's not like having the short-lived KAIO undeneath compromises the topper's longevity IME; just look at how heavily layered KSG can last for over a year.

Upkeep on a car is fairly easy. You just need to prep it right about every 4-6 months.

I have KAIO and really like it, but I wouldn't stop at KAIO. If you're looking for ease of use, I wouldn't use KSG. I like the stuff but it's been a pain so far.

I'd clay the car, KAIO it, and then top with a good, easy to use sealant. I think Blackfire Wet Diamond would be a good choice, but there are a lot of other good options out there (Wolfgang, Collinite, I even like 3M Performance Finish). You can put on one coat, wash your car the next week, put on another coat, wash it the next week, put on another coat, and be good for the next ~6 months. With regular washing, your car should be well protected. Then start back over and clay it again, KAIO, sealant...

I have made a commitment to wash my car every week or every two weeks but can I really get away with just using a spray wax for protection??

I am trying to buy less car detailing products have spent enough money over the last four months or so. I will more than likely soon order some Optimum products. Really looks like great stuff. ONR and OWW and Poli-seal have gotten my attention especially ONR which can be used to do so many other things. I was going to do it at six months but my paint appears to be in great shape so if I can manage to wait that long I will do it at the one year mark I want to clay it and put Poli-seal on it.

G37 You will love poli-seal very easy to use will not stain trim. My favorite all in one by far. A little goes a long ways. The hydro shine that david is talking about is equall to the P&S spray it that u have. I realy like optimum spray wax alot easer to use than most quick det.
