I am going to OCW for the first time

I plan to use OCW for the first time this weekend. After I wash and dry using OID I will put a coat of OCW using plush MF towels. I have done plenty of research on OCW application and I plan to use about 2 sprays per panel and spread then wipe off immediately. Do I have to prime the plush MF towel with a couple sprays of OCW first? Any advice from OCW users?

One panel at a time: Spray on, spread over entire panel evenly, flip towel (or use different towel) and buff till gone. Don't overthink it and don't go slow because it's your first time. It's really easy.

Now that I have the Optimum Coating on my car, OCW is how I will maintain it after every few washes. Not that I need additional protection but that on light metallic colors, nothing looks wetter, IMO.

I am a little late to this conversation so I will guess you have figured out how to use the OCW to your advantage. Your process for the OCW is spot on because it works for you.

Now if you want to impress yourself spend a couple of coins and get the Opti-Seal. I Opti-Seal after every hand ONR car wash it is so easy and my bride now uses the OCW on the wood furniture, cabinets and such in the triple wide.

Opti-Seal your rims and again you will impress yourself with the ease of this product and removal of brake dust.

I have used OCW once. I sprayed lightly, spread with a foam applicator, then wiped with a dry mf towel. If you pause a few seconds prior to buffing off, it seems to dry somewhat on its own (some kind of evaporation) and wipes off easier to me. You would continue to use the same foam applicator but switch to a dry mf towel if it becomes too damp. Overly Damp towels streak more.

You really do not need much per panel if you spread with a foam applicator.

i've also used a 5.5" blue pad on my pc, spray the panel or the pad, just different, works well for me.

Its decent stuff . You should like it . Can't beat the ease , but if you use car washes with detergents it will wash off .

It has done well after a couple washes and I expect it to last weeks (6 to 8 wks minimum).

It rained today and this is the second week with one coat of OCW on the finish and the car was washed once last saturday with OPT car wash. The car is beading water like crazy almost like it stuck to the finish even on the doors and lower sides. Isnt the water suppose to sheet rather than bead?

I've used OCW on a bunch of different cars and got streaking on two of them. One was a black 911 Turbo that seems to streak regardless of what is on it (only on the hood where it has been repainted due to rock chips), the other was a dark blue MB E55. I followed up Poli seal with OCW and got streaking on that car. I only use a small amount (1-2 sprays per panel) and spread it with a MF towel and then rewipe with the same towel after the majority of it had evaporated. It left a few streaks on the hood and front doors, almost like it wasn't fully spread around before it evaporated. It wasn't warm out and i was in the shade, so i'm not certain what happened.

OCW looks really wet on medium and dark metallics, too. I use it on my titanium and graphite cars and it looks fantastic...deep, wet and reflective.

Regarding other members streaking problems...I haven't seen it on my cars, though I do normally apply it in the garage and out of the sun.

Not a chance . OCW is one of the shortest lasting products , plus IMO the shine is no better than you buy off the shelf at auto parts stores.

Optimum has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Maybe you should return it and buy OTC if that's what works for you. Feel free to PM me for return instructions. You should see a minimum of 4-6 weeks unless there were bonding issues or you wash with a detergent. Also, the application of OCW vs traditional waxes greatly reduces the chance of inducing swirls during the removal step.

Agreed, I get pretty good durability from OCW. In fact, I had put it on my car other Maxima in the middle of December, then it was totaled in January. Sat outside through all the ice and snow for more than a month before the insurance company picked it up. Still beading just fine and helped (along with all the polishing I had done in the past) to have both insurance companies (mine and the other guys) rate my car's finish as dealer ready.
