I am also going to detail this summer...need advice

Well, originally I was only going to do a few cars this summer but I have more people interested. I would like some advice on products and pricing.

I just orderd my PC so that will cut down on time some.

I will be using Meguiars Pro line products, #7, #9, DACP, #20, #26 for paint care. I'll also have #34 and #40. I will buy all these by the gallon and I have a good source to purchase them.

I can also top with P21S.

As far as pricing:

Wash, Dry, Interior clean, tire dressing = $40

Complete detail, including all of the above, clay, wax, and polish (I'll determine what products to use when I see the car) = $125 to $175 depending on the condition of paint.

**Large cars and SUVs please add 30% to the final price**

Should I leave my pricing structure the way it is or should I break it down more specifically? Most of the people I have talked to have no idea when I was mentioning specific packages with certain produts.

Thanks for any help.

if the customers aren't buying your prices, make sure to tell them you are using top-of-the-line products on their car and your services can't be met by the average joe. (buffer training, claybar knowledge, etc.)

That seems pretty good to me, but I would add in that you are polishing the car for that full detail price, not just waxing. I have found that I had to have flexible pricing too. Some people's cars are such a mess when I get to them that's it takes me an extra hour or two.
