After trolling around here for the last few days,
I figured I might as well register.Excellent forum,
btw !!
I just purchased a new 2003 Honda CR-V (white)
and I have been doing alot of research on what
would be the best care care products for both
exterior and interior.
As far as the wax,it looks like most everyone likes
the Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection(UPP).I am
looking for a lasting protection,is this what I need?
One other thing,with this being a new auto,do I
need to go with a cleaner as in Platinum Ultimate
Paint Pre Cleaner?
Thanks for any feedback or tips !!
I believe I will enjoy this forum very much.....:)

welcome...,
I would recommend getting the cleaner, wash, QD and UPP.
I think you would be happy with Platinum or Klasse, they are both good products:)

It would be a GREAT start:)
QD is an acronym for "quick detail" products.
Right now there is..., or was a "sampler" for Platinum for about $5 - $6.
I would also recommend trying Klasse All in One ans Klasse Super Glaze.
Microfiber towels are AMAZING for removing wax, polish, and nothing works better on glass/mirrors.
Just ask turbomangt..., he teaches detailing...
his email is
GARY.KOUBA@chrobinson.com
he can give you a lot of info...

Thanks for all your help, Wayne!
I will get my order in today.I have
also been reading up on the MF
towels, and have some on the way!
Thanks again..................:D

Welcome to DC and congrats on the new ride...best of luck with it!!!

You'll be very happy with the Platinum Intro Kit. Maybe add an extra bottle of the Platinum Gloss Enhancing Spray since after you wash the car you'll always want to give it a quick spritz with that stuff. Trust me, once you use it you'll never want to wash without using it afterwards.

Once again, welcome!

stevie,

Welcome to DC! I agree with what the others have said. The UPP kit will work very nice................ and yes go with a cleaner. Some here like to use Klasse AIO as a foundation to the UPP, rather than the Platinum cleaner. However, I'm sure the UPC will work just fine.

Like Natty said, get yourself an extra bottle (or 2) of the QD. The UPP will go a long way, and you need a few bottles of the QD before the UPP runs out.

Good luck and have fun!

Hey Stevie,
First, welcome to the forum!
Second, I would add a step to what was suggested. Even though your car is new, I would add a clay step in there. The clay will lift out any contaminents in the paint giving you a better surface to polish and seal. I would suggest the Clay Magic blue clay. You would use the clay between the wash and pre-clean steps. Goto www.premiumautocare.com to order all this stuff.

BTW - I will back up the others suggestions, soild routine.
