How to use Zaino (with comments by Sal Zaino)

You state:

"Still having some massive trouble with Z8 though"

What kind of problems?

I've used as little as 1/5 oz (Z2P and Z5P) with ZFX on my car (Civic) using a mf appl spritzed with Z-6.

Z8 is extremely concentrated. Try misting with a smaller bottle. Also it is heat activated.

Followed the details originally noted on this thread. This was a much improved procedure to my original use of Zaino prodcuts that I have always been satisfied with. The paint looks fantastic now and it couldn't feel any smoother. I appreciate the time taking to write out this procedure. Greatly appreciated.

BTW.. car looks great Ron. I'm jealous of the shine/mirror finish a dark color car can bring out.

wannafbody how do you mix ZFX and Z-8 in a smaller bottle and if so can the leftover be used later like weeks later.

mongo

Hi Mongo,

You do not mix ZFX with Z8.

Z8 is the "spray" sealant that is applied in the same manner as a QD.

Spray on (mist on is a better method) and buff off.

ZFX is used only to enable (activate) the Z sealants (Z2 and Z5) for instant curing and/or application of multiple layers in one session (day).

ZFX CAN be mixed with Z8 but it isn't neccessary. Mixing 1 drop of ZFX with an ounce of Z8 will aid in curing and hardening of the Z8. Just mix one ounce in a small pump bottle. I'm not sure what happens if you don't use it all up- I think it's continues to be usable.

True story. I've known this for almost a year.

Ron: He gave me the:

"Ask a painter to paint a car without a catalyst" in regards to ZFX :).

Klasse products are NOT the same as Werkstatt products or CarLack 68 products. Someone has given ya'll some bad info.

That's not my understanding. Carlack makes both Klasse and Werkstatt. Werkstatt is just the "updated" version(s).

Why would one do this?

Who or where was it recommended to do this abberrant process?

What size vehicle would require one ounce of Z8? My Escalade only used about an 1/4 of a ounce including glass, jams, etc.

Z8 bonds to the established Z surface quite while by itself and why would anyone desire to apply multiple coats of Z8?

ZFX mixed with Z8 may not be necessary or IMHO useful and extremely wasteful. Then again I use ZFX for all Z2/5PRO application. :o

I guess waste is in the eyes of the beholder. :nixweiss

Hold judgement on whether to use ZFX with Z8. Some reliable sources state that this is an viable option. :think2
