How to use Midnight Sun

My 7 month old car has many coats of z2 and z5 on it. It is as smooth as can be and I am happy with the appearance. However, after waxing I can feel tiny bumps on the paint. Does this mean that I should clay? If I do, will it take off all of the Z that I have appied? Thanks in advance for any input.

You probably should have prepped with something like Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion before the Z. Claying will definately help you and it won't probably take off all the Z but you will need to redo it.

Sound like you will need to clay. It is one of the easiest things to do and it's not as hard on the paint or the arms as using some of the light cleaners for paint. I would suggest waiting until Spring and doing a clay job on your car. Followed by reapplying Zaino (Z-1 and Z-2).

One of the things you can do is fill up your wash bucket and wash your car first. This will prep your car's surface for claying. Then get a fresh bucket of soapy water and use it as lube. Use your clay bar and go from front to back and then side to side always keeping it lubed. You should not put any scratches into the surface and it should be very smooth afterwards.

May I suggest using "Clay Magic" brand. It's one of the oldest in the industry and one of the best, if not the best. I would further suggest using the "blue" bar for light contamination.

Regards

Don't use Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion before using Zaino. It contains "gloss-enhancing oils and fillers to polish your car without abrasives."

You would have to Dawn wash to remove these oils or the Zaino will not bond properly.

Isutiger: I would wait several weeks without adding additional Zaino coats and follow Jazzyjack's advice using a good quality clay.

YoSteve.com,

If you clay while your washing your paint, you will not need to rewash. I talked with a "Clay Magic" rep and she told me to clay while washing the car/truck, or to wash a second time to do the claying.

However anything else other then using a soap based lube would necessitate washing before applying Zaino or any other polymere or acrylic sealant.

I think I'll wait till spring and break out the clay. I purchased some clay from Zaino, but haven't even opened it yet. Thanks again.

You're not telling me that your taking a woman's take on things as gospel. Hehe! Please say it isn't so. Just kidding.

LSUTiger, the Zaino clay is pretty good indeed. You should be happy with it. Laters

This is my first WOWO wax. The label says to apply it to a section then wipe off. Is the whole hood or whole roof too large of a section? I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around not having to let it sit before wiping off.

Jon, Midnight Sun is pretty forgiving in terms of application and removal. You don't want to let it dry, but I find I can usually get about half a hood, a front fender, and a door before wiping off.

My rule of thumb is I load the applicator and apply as thin of a coat as possible. When it is time to reload the applicator I will wipe off the previous section. And so on until it is completely removed.

I just applied another coat of Midnight Sun this past weekend. It really is easy. As Todd said, by the time you need to reload, you should buff off.

Let us know how it turns out.

+1 to all the above comments. I usually do a "section" at a time - hood, roof, front quarter and door, rear door and quarter, trunk. Easy on and off. If you get any streaking, just mist with distilled water and wipe with a clean microfiber. Enjoy the shine!!!

I love this stuff as well, This was my first big wax purchase other then the sample size of supernatural and I love this wax, very easy to use on and off.
