3M compound works pretty well, but if one let it sit too long, it's a bummer to remove once dried up. Aside from alcohol and quick detailer, is there anything I may not have thought about to remove it ?

Clay ?

Let me know as I got one heck of a cleanup to do

Hi-Temp makes a product called Klean. It is a waterbase paint cleaner that can be used to strip off polymer sealants, or polish residue. The product smells so good, its almost dangerous. It should be able to remove the compound residue. What you can do is dilute it 1:1 with water, and wash the whole car down with it. Let it sit for a few minutes and then hose it off. Hope this helps.

Meguiars Final Inspection works pretty well.
If there is a lot of compound on the vehicle, try hosing it down with water and following up with a hot water wash and rinse.

I just spray the area with a quick detail and then go back over it with the buffer and it comes right off. Then just towel area dry.
