how to quickly induce marring?

Actually, the paint and body work might be excellent. But, sadly or fortunately...shop environments aren't exactly sterile...

Fast paced shops, no matter how hard they try to keep clean, will get

some amount of trash in the paint. Even those with expensive, state of the art

facilities, will get trash that needs to be buffed out. ...

Yep, and IME *honest* shops admit this.

That was a good observation, especially coming from you :xyxthumbs People often, I think, have unrealistic expectations about how clean paintbooths/etc. really are (at least in most cases).

I'm taking smoke break from sanding the trash of last nights paint job (hood). Really.

It's not something any shop likes to admit to. But, i'm sure, there are similarities

in the detailing business as well. Virtually all businesses with human beings...

Flashtime- Heh heh, yeah, but to hear some people tell it they live/work in some alternate universe where everything is perfect ;)

You could follow the Expert Village "how to wash a car" directions... Be sure to do it exactly, and don't skip any steps.

I would try cleaning dust off of it with a bath towel and quick detailer. Be aggressive. That used to work for me until I found Autopia and learned that swirls were bad and avoidable!

Before following Autopia guidelines, I use to think that spider webs were part of the paint!!!
