Hey guys, a company wants me to wash and wax 10 vans and was wondering how much i should charge per van for just a straight wash and machine 1 step polish/wax by porter cable. I was thinking 35 dollors per van! Is that too little or to much for this???? Also how should I upsell them to a weekly or bi weekly or even montly maintainence wash package and how much should i charge?????

I was thinking if they want to wash there vans twice a month (everyother week) I would charge them 30 dollors per van for wash and wax and 20 dollors per van for a wash.

Price should be based on what it takes to meet expenses...all expenses!

I doubt very seriously that 10.00 to wax a VAN!!!! would do that.

What he said!

Your overhead cost to get each van done will also depend on how many you'll do at one time. The work you put into Pick up, drop off, check in/out, equipment setup, cleanup, etc will vary considerably with batch size.

Agreed with this .

Price the job on time and go from there . Upsell them on a weekly or bi weekly wash package . Explain to them the time involved in your first price quote and while your doing that throw in the wash up keep price. Remember the customer wants to know what the value of their money gets. :2thumbs: Good luck .

FWIW, I hate washing my van. . . removing the wax is fun too. The thing has to be 250 square feet.

Make that job worth your time.

you would have to be nuts to do all that for $30...

I'm guessing the vans are white... Taking all that wax off would suck.

if u want to keep them as long time customers give them a cheaper price and they may just have you do it every month. id be satisfied with 35 a van, everyones got different ideas on whats fair though

I agree in most part of what the others are saying.

This price could be a bench mark, wash and QD a normal size car for $49.95. You may get your price up and give the 10th van free or add on another service to the package. I’m not into doing work for 1/3 my list price or 3/4 for that matter. “Cheap is not the reason why we have long term customers!!!
