Hey guys, a company wants me to wash and wax 10 vans and was wondering how much i should charge per van for just a straight wash and machine 1 step polish/wax by porter cable. I was thinking 35 dollors per van! Is that too little or to much for this???? Also how should I upsell them to a weekly or bi weekly or even montly maintainence wash package and how much should i charge?????

I was thinking if they want to wash there vans twice a month (everyother week) I would charge them 30 dollors per van for wash and wax and 20 dollors per van for a wash.

Base your estimate on the amount of time invested in each van.

You should get paid at least $30 - $35 per hour.

Are you only doing the exterior? $20-30 seems a bit low to me. I'd be at $50 for an exterior wash & machine wax, and higher if it involved the interior.

$35 for W&W including a polish?
A couple of problems.
1. That's cheap. What if there is tar, road paint, bugs, contamination, overspray? These things may require a little more time. And a van takes time to wash, and waxing with a PC takes time.
2. A PC wax will not last as long as a WOWO wax, a sealant, or a wax-dry-buff wax. In fact, you might only get a month. If they pay you 4 times a year to do it, it means they have 8 months with minimal protection.

I charge $49.95 for a car and $59.95 for van/SUV/truck for wash & wax. $5 more for sealant or Souveran. Includes basic wheel cleaning and basic removal of bad stuff. I charge extra for really bad cars. And this is really cheap.

But, with 10 vans, you get some discount. Are they dropping off or you? Extra time. If they drop off, perhaps $40/van for a hand application sealant. $5 extra for full wheel cleaning. Oh, I see you are mobile, so you are looking at 2-3 days of work, so you gotta pay for that.

For ext. cleaning, $10/van mobile sounds fair. I dunno. The more you do it, the less work the wheels and rocker panels will be, so you are right in offering those kinds of discounts.
I offer a splash & dash to monthly customers for $15-$20 ext. wash, dust the dash, windows. $32-$36 includes a vacuum. When I have time I put tire shine on every customer's vehicle for free.
