well i'm going crazy trying to get my 97 Cadillac Catera in tip-top shape.....its been sitting in the driveway over the winter, and now i'm trying to get this white road paint off of the body behind the front wheels......i've tried bug and tar remover (by turtle wax) and thats done absoloutly nothing. I dont want to have to take it to a professional, i'm quite willing to do whatever possible in my driveway. Is there anything that you can recomend to get it off?

Clay your car and consider getting a cleaning polish such as Klasse AIO or Poorboys Professional Polish using a terry cloth or PC. Good luck.

I agree with the laquer thinner ... it has worked for me several times with road paint.
CAUTION: try a small area first ...laquer thinner is pretty safe on todays clear-coat finishes but if there is any chip guard on the lower panels it could take that off.

if by chip guard you mean the thin clear plastic pieces applied by the dealership, then no...the caddy never got that sort of treatment....lol
What i'll do is take a cotton-ball or something and just rub a little on the bottom of the front bumper....if after a minute or so that doesnt have any affect, i'll just carefully use it to get the paint off. Thanks for the advice, if its really sucessfull i'll post before and after pics.

road paint is tough stuff, i usually just skip to wetsanding with 1500, or if its a lot i start with 1000 and then finish with 1500 or 2000. If your not experienced with sanding i woudnt suggest it.

I have used goof off with much success ... however I had some problems with it swelling the paint on a plastic bumber once. It was factory paint. I think it was from the flex additives that are put in the paint though.
It is a great product but as always ... Try a small area first.
