i have some white marks from polishing the car. ive tried getting it off, but nothing is working. is there a cheap house hold product i can use or something i have to buy. its on my license holder on my front bumper.

i was looking at the black again car care stuff from pakshak.

Or you can get some Wax Blaster or the Duragloss version - both are in a shoe polish like bottle (little sponge on the tip) follow instructions and git r done!

Magic eraser eliminates the problem as well, just don't use a ton of pressure. This trick is also great on interiors for shoe scuffs, pen/pencil/crayon drawings etc.

the wax blaster stuff sucks IMO....i have it and it couldnt take off 1 week old wax from my trim...even after 4 applications, i threw it away

what worked for me was using a cleaner wax like megs 66. It removed the old and left the trim protected and cleaned...i then dressed with megs hyper and it looked better than new

Peanut butter on a tooth brush will take that off

Also Poorboys Trim Restore is another applied the same way

I use the later of the two and love it, have never had one issue getting it off and keeping it off

Nah, peanut butter doesn't work worth a darn. It gives a temporary masking effect by oiling the polish, making it appear to have disapeared for a few days.

I've found the wheel cleaners to be the best at removing the polish in trim. Particularly Eagle A2Z, which now has another name that I can't remember.

You mentioned wheel cleaners...do you think Westley's Bleach-White would be ok or possibly too abrasive?

My Saturn has the grey colored front & rear plastic bumper. In my first few detailing attempts I slopped some wax on it. Is anyone familiar with these types of bumpers in particular?

I don't have experience with Westley's bleche-wite, so I really can't say. Looking at the various copies of the MSDS shows a wide disparity in contents, though the overall thrust is 5% abrasive (usually some sort of silica), 5-20% alcohol (type varies), a touch of surfacant and a bunch of water.

Were it me, I'd try it on an inconspicuous spot first and see what it did. I would surmise that it *should* work well, but I can't claim experience or knowledge that it will work well.

I had the same problem with wax on the edges of my vinyl flames. Hood, fenders & sides, many, many pieces of shade shift vinyl. I couldn't stand it, others didn't notice or thought no big deal. I tried quick detail spray with a toothbrush but I didn't try the peanut butter. I spent about 12 hours removeing the vinyl instead. They were on the car when I bought it so I had no emotional attatchment to them. LOL

I'm not positive but from my experience Bleche-wite wouldn't damage your plastic trim and it'll definately remove any kind of compound or wax residue from the plastic with a little elbow grease

Thanks for the info!

Anyone else familiar with the grayish black bumper (unpainted) & trim on Saturns?
