Well me and my partner Rich(quamen) are expanding our buisness soon which means more trucks more clients more work etc. This is great but we want to expand it greater. We will be opening a Training center but also wish to start a product line. We have the basics down but still need help and who better to ask but you autopians. What we would like to know is..well anything you guys know about developing and marketing a product line. Like the poor boys, klasse, klear coat brands. If anyone can help send us in the right direction or knows someone(maybe yourself?) with the knowledge please let us know. Thanks everyone.

why not ask Mr Chemist? He should know as well as any.

I'd say that to start from scratch, maybe way too expansive, if possible. private label maybe the way to go.

What you want is a ""custom manufacturer"" at least that is what it is called in the supplement industry.

I hope I was helpful.

Good luck in any case.

Glad your business is growing!

tdekany is right. Private labeling is probably the way to go in at least the short term. I do know that Clearkote does private labeling.

We want to steer clear of using others products and Letting others think they are our own. We do want to bring in a team to formulate the chemicals. what im looking for is the right people or a place to look. Money isn't the issue here its the resources/contacts that we are lacking. Thanks anyway guys :xyxthumbs

I started my own private label program 3 years ago and the success I have experienced is over whelming. I ship all over the world, in fact I started a program for other detailers to walk in my footsteps by forming the "High Tech Preferred" label. You need to offer a product/label that people cannot get anywhere else. The product has to be easy to use (most end users are not professional) and the quality must be better than any retail product. Once you get that established, you need to let people know you offer it. Everyone person I detail for is going to buy some auto care product when they leave, (tire shine, spray wax, ect.) Mine as well be me they buy it from. I have a captive audience, since I teach detailing and host clinics all over. Plus I have my own detailing forum which people have used my products with great suiccess then praise my name on the forum. This opens the flood gates for others to buy. I just started selling MF towels to car wash centers all around my home. You can start go the car shows, and town festivals and sell your products. To be honest, it is almost getting out of hand. I have my whole family packing, labeling, and helping me ship orders. I do enhoy it and like the feedback from everyone. Good Luck, and good selling. PM me if you want more info. Gary
