How to detail a brand new truck

My son just took delivery of a 05 Titan and wants to have a go on it with Zaino goods ( only ).

What do you pros recommend he do ( please do not even bother to suggest products other than Zaino )? Should he clay bar a brand new truck?

Thanks in advance,

The Color is a metallic blue.

Absolutely clay a new truck. Wash z7, clay, better to wash again, I would stick with z2pro/zfx unless he already bought z5. I use z6 to help remove polishing residue, and in between coats. When you have enough coats of Pro on it, then use your z8 for maintenaince and after washing, Z8 is cool stuff.

I just detailed a brand new car this past weekend.Procedure is the same.

If the vehicle is going to be present still with the white Rapgard material on it, I'd insist on removing that yourself as well. Took me 40 minutes. So I'm assuming it's going to be at least that long for you.

Ideally on brand new vehicles a good three step decontamination system either the one from Finish Kare or Auto Int's ABC would follow next.

I didn't order in time so I just washed and clayed. FWIW, the clay remained absolutely clean! :)

Once you're through with washing and claying, inspect the paint closely. Use artificial lighting like a 1000 watt halogen stand.

Then go to your Zaino.

It's exciting and if you want to go overboard, you could wind up putting loads of hours into it!

If you like, follow how I did mine and just substitute the Last Step Product for the Zaino application procedure.

what should I charge for a new truck detail. Plan to wash, clay, inspect, AIO by PC, then SG by hand. 303 interior and possibly 3M scotchguard the interior. Truck has 150 miles on it. It's an F150 king cab.

I'd charge at least $250.00

sorry to hijack aldive, but this might apply to you too. Does anyone have any tips for applying the scotchguard?

I'd charge like 150 maybe. I'd use easier to use products though, so I could burn through it in 2 hours (FK1 Decon, followed by RMG, followed by FK1 Pink, Natural Look on a damn MF for the interior).
