I am going to be detailing my car soon and UC is my first step. Well o was debating on m105 and UC. I read that if you use UC correctly it will work the same as m105. Well I'm new to usuing a PC so how do you use UC correctly?

The technique in that blog will work for UC as well.. UC+NXT2.0 is a heavenly match combo and will work well for most paint

Some will say finish with SwirlX or M205.. But I guess that beats the point of using UC since it's meant to be a compound that finishes LSP ready

That's because it will finish down even better with a polish.
 
I used UC followed by SwirlX on a rotary and completely got rid of haze and swirls on my Acura (soft paint). They left some very light holograms, so you will may need to finish off with something milder than SwirlX.

IME the individual car/paint will determine whether or not you need a finishing polish. I did two different Jags ('99 and '07) with super hard clears that needed a fine polish after the UC. On the contrary, I did my brother's 2006 Neon SRT-4 that finished BEAUTIFULLY (after two passes) with UC. But this is slightly off topic. The OP is asking how to use it. That was a good link that you provided. I have an order of m105 on the way, so I can't directly compare the two but I was honestly not impressed with the level of cut it provided on the hard clears of the Jags, and even having to do two passes on the Neon. Just trying to tell you not to worry!

You were using a rotary, he's using a PC. Plus it doesn't get much milder than SwirlX!

I wonder if my car has a hard clear.

Thrillho, when you say you had to do 2 passes on the car, are you saying that you used UC on an area then wipe it off then used it again and wiped it off? Or did one area at a time and do the whole car and did it twice?

I'm new to machines so any (PC 7424xp) tips are a lot of help.



Edit: Also I have 2 orange pads for UC, Will that be enough orange pads?
 
Yes no doubt UC will finish even better with a finishing polish.. That's why I stated the combo 'will work well on most paint' :)
