how to clean off megs pads?

i watched a megs video and barry said to jsut use the same pad for each product then before each use to just tap the pads, is that realy how you clean them???? also usually how many uses do you guys get out of your megs pads for your pc?
 
I wash my pads after about every use depending also on wheather I'm doing more than one car and using the same product.

Put them in the sink with warm water, use dish soap and need them to press the product out of them, keep pressing and the soap will come out. Then I air dry them or you can put them on the PC spin at high and that will make most of the water come out. A pad can last for years if you treat them right there is little to wear out.
 
I take a toothbrush and scrub the surface, getting any caked on stuff off. Then I soak it in dawn and rinse it out, air dry. I don't see how washing pads causes failure. I've had 1 pad for almost 5+ years and another one for 2 that I routinely blast out with a hose and not one part of the edging is coming up.
 
I have multiple pads, along with multiple backs. I use one for each product. To clean them, I get them wet, spin them in a bucket at the highest speed to remove excess water, use a toothbrush as needed for heavy caking, then pad side up, on the ground I press firmly with a towel going slowly from the center out as I spin them clean and moist.

I too, have pads that are 5+ years old, done more cars than I wish to count with, and still in beautiful shape. If the pad gets a little warn I also give them a light re-shaping with a 2" square brass brush... kinda like turning a brake rotor on a lathe.
 
I may be way off base here....but I throw mine in the washing machine (gentle cycle and warm water) after every use. I've been doing this for years and I still have my very first set of pads and they're in good shape.
 
I soak mine in a bucket with dawn soap. I then rinse them out with tap water and spin dry them on my PC.
 
I get em wet in the sink, a little murphy's oil soap, massage em to get the product out, rinse and squeeze till clear water comes out - then air dry or if I am going to use them - spin dry.

Same here, but minus the spin dry.
