ok, well, this not really relating to cars but it can apply to it..

a few days ago i got a bleeding nose and dripped about 5-10 drops of blood on my carpet. when i noticed it (about 30 minutes later) i cleaned it up with just water and a towel but some remained, what products(automotive or household) do you recommend on cleaning it up?

i dont want to go out and rent a carpet cleaner for 10 drops (the house is brand new and only 5 months old so i wouldent need to clean the rest of the carpet anyways) but i am thinking of buying a steam machine to clean the car. So would a steam machine work on removing the blood? (since the detailing guide says nothing about steam cleaners to clean the interiors of cars) if so, what brands do you reccommend?

Oxyclean has easily helped removed blood for me.

NO, don't use steam or any form of heat to remove blood stains. The heat will denature the protein in the blood and cause it to bind to the carpet fibers making removal even more difficult if not impossible. Get some hydrogen peroxide from the drug store, and rub that into the stain with a clean cloth, it will foam up and remove the stain. Any enzyme based cleaner will also be effective on blood.

ahh thank you very much, that article was helpful as i am planning to detail my parent's car then it get warmer, how about the steam machine question though?

hydrpogen peroxide is the best thing for blood as noted above. I had to use it throughout my house last night as we trimmed the dogs nails and cut a little to far back :( can we say a pug that hates nails being clipped running through the house top speed flinging blood everywhere.

I don't mean to criticize but that is a horrific image.
