I got a guy coming in to the shop tomorrow with a 37' RV. We're doing a deep wash and true wax on this. I did one two days ago but someone at my shop told him it was $50 cheap. wash and wax. NEVER AGAIN! My other independent contractor and I was looking in to the $550 to $650 range. What do yall think?

$20-30 a linear foot? Who in their right mind is going to pay $1,000 for an exterior-only with zero correction?

Wow...

That's what is being charged around here. Wash and wax $15-$25 per foot from front to back. Trust me people pay it!

Edit: I was $5 over normal price on my first post.

That's sounds about right. I washed one a few days ago and if washed and waxed right, it's a LOT of work so that's pretty much justified.

That's about the norm just about everywhere I've seen doing this type of work... Should be a good range to start with at least and see where it gets you.

hey! how do you mesure it? like a customer comes with a rv and u need to qote him on price what do you do?

I was thinking of making a price sheet of standard costs, with an additional charge for labor....i didn't realize you guys were charging by the foot =[

How about the prices for interiors? Also do you charge more for a motor home than you would a travel trailer (Dash, Doors, dirty carpet)?

Thanks

Question when charging by the foot do you charge just one side or both. I got a 45 foot RV a guy wants me to just clean up and polish no correction .So if it's 45 foot on one side do you just charge that x the 15 or 20 a foot or do you charge for the total of both sides of 90 feet .?

if i charge 20x 45 = 900 for the whole RV or charge 20x 90=1800 for both sides?? also this is like 12 foot in height..

$2-$4 for wash, $6-$10 for wash and wax, $12-$15 For polish and Wax, $18-$25+ for full compund, polish and wax.

This is dead on for RV's, boats, and motor homes... I always try to estimate high, and if it doesn't take me as long as I think it will, then the bill is less... customers love it when they pay less than they thought they were going to!!!

the total includes the height and roof ?. Luck for me it's only a wash and cleanup not complete correction just wants it to look somewhat nice again . yes i will be waxing and polishing also can you use clay on this i figured i could .

My typical way is by total measurement. These guys know how long there boat or rv is.

lets say 37 foot boat.

37 * price per foot = total money made!

You can use clay, but there is really no need... just use a good degreaser when you wash it! Yes, that total includes the roof being washed...washing the roof will keep the black marks from coming back so fast. I dont usually consider the height... they're all pretty close to the same.
