How to bump my business?

My business has been really slow recently. On average I usually only get 1-2 people a month. (But I don't offer any polishing or anything, not yet but soon. Also that was when weather was colder.)

I am hoping to get more calls and clients. What can I do? I have flyers, online ads, business cards, a website. But not enough calls, what's the prob?

Also, my monthly ad campaign is only $50. Should I bump it up?

Thanks, looking forward to any tips you may have.

People don't know the quality of your work based upon flyers and business cards.  I get more interest from neighbors or passers by when I am detailing than any other form of advertising outside of direct referrals.  Offer to do friends' cars for free or cheap provided they let you choose the location and they talk you up.  I always tell people to tell their friends right away.  If they wait a week the car won't look as good as when it is just finished.

Went to your website. Your service page is a mess. People don't want to choose every single thing they want done or don't want done, offer a few packages then offer ala carte on unique services.

You have to make picking and purchasing your service EASY for people. If they feel for a second it is too complicated they will look elsewhere.

I'm no expert by any means  :)

Bumping your ad campaign might drive traffic to your site (you'd have to look at what keywords you're targeting, market price, competition, etc..) but will not convert into sales. It doesn't matter if you get have a high click-through-rate (CTR), if they don't convert into sales, then it's money wasted. Getting a potential customer to your site is only 1 step of the sale ladder.

Have you been tracking your ad campaign and how it's performing?

- Build a solid referral program. Contact your customers and explain to them you have developed a beneficial program for customers and their friends. The referral program should be beneficial for the referrer and the referee.

Example: Mike tells Joe about your services. Joe (referee) books an appointment and saves $10 on any service. Mike (referrer) is credited $25 to your services.

- Sponsor car/truck  forums with high traffic and/or specific targeted audience.

- Facebook promotion: show an image with a special: wash, tire dressing, windows cleaned, and vacuum= $25. Perfect opportunity to share your referral program.

- Create a maintenance plan. Weekly, bi-weekly, to monthly washes. If they want a weekly plan, then create it to where they save X amount more than if they chose the bi-weekly/monthly plan.

- I would take away the 'Specials' announcements and replace that with benefits, reasons, values to the customer of why they should choose you to be their automotive detailer.

- drop your slider down to only 3 photos. All the pictures that are posted for the most part don't show me anything of value. Find your most significant 50/50s and post em up there. An interior, headlights, and paint correction seem to be best. I'm gonna assume you don't have photoshop skills (i dont either lol). Add some simple white text with 'before' & 'after' to clearly show what they're looking at in the picture

- On the 'our hours' go ahead and take all that off. To make it simple for the customer add Monday, Tuesday, Fri, etc.. 8:00am - 5:00pm (however you have your hours.) Directly underneath your hours, add your email/number/name

- On the 'about us' picture, put a photo of yourself. It doesn't have to be of you working or professional taken. A picture for your customers to see the human side of the business.

about

People dont really like to read. your 'our mission statement' is nice, but everyone will fly right over it. You can break it down into:
<p style="text-align:center;"><u>Mission Goals</u>
<p style="text-align:center;"> - Complete convenience for our customers
<p style="text-align:center;">- 100% satisfaction with all our services!
<p style="text-align:center;">- Personal connection with our clients

A lot cleaner look, simple and direct, easy to read, and your customers know what you're about (notice how I aligned the points as well)

- Your second paragraph has little value/benefit. "We are truly a different type of Detailing Business, we come to you no matter where you are!" Great, now I (as the customer) dont have to drive anywhere to get my car cleaned. Excellent! I can still clean the house, etc... "Hence, our name Tern's! ... we "migrate" to different customers. On certain occasions, we may bring your car into our office and detail it there." and now im out. I pressed the back button and im looking at another mobile detailer. Add what other benefits come with being mobile: professional, on time, reliable, etc.. No one cares about the name

- Your last paragraph on the about section is confusing. You will go as far as the customer lives as long as A. The price is right (above $X) and/or B. After X amount of miles, a small traveling fee will be charged.. So something like: "We primarily service Crestwood, IL, but will be more than happy to travel as far as you'd like for our services. Anything over ~25 miles will need a $150 purchase to drive out to you or a small traveling fee will be charged"

- At the bottom of the about page add your name/phone/email and a short phrase "Let us do all the work! 921.203.xxx, etc.."

- You need to add some personal information: Who you are, name, things you like, etc..

services

- take away "From minor Wash & Wax to big things, like Full Interior Details"

- change the color scheme

<u>exterior services</u>

Wash and Wax: Includes the wash process but added with a layer of wax for protection and a bit of shine // price: $80 (include claybar, if customer doesn't want it, work down)

<u>add on services</u>

Etc..

I'd reach out to member <span style="color:rgb(20,24,35);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;font-weight:bold;">Joseph Villegas.

He's helped quite a few detailers amplify their websites for optimal results.
