How to approach a client?

Theres a fellow down the street from me with three beautiful cars.



A silver C5 Corvette, a black Harley Edition F150, and a Burgundy red Jeep Wrangler. His wife was my 6th grade english teacher, but I dont know if she will even remember me. I'd really like to get my hands on these cars to detail, but how should I approach him if I ever see him outside? Should I just leave a business card, or a note in his mailbox?



How would everyone here handle a situation like this?
 
Next time you see him outside, ask him who takes care of his cars. If he does, mention what you do for a living, if someone else does, let him know you feel you do better work.

. . . . and exude confidence, but not arrogance. Know your business but don't over shop-talk. Its a fine line, be smooth and nonchalant. GL
 
If you are capable of removing marring and notice some on his vehicles, say to him that you will improve the look for free. I'm not talking about the whole car just a section or two. Show him what you can do.
 
I have gained a few new clients just by detailing vehicles! I have had people actually pull into my driveway while I am detailing and ask me if I can get their car looking as good as the ones I am detailing.
