How to apply wax?

I have a question about applying wax. Should I do it by hand or use the orbital buffer I got from wal-mart? When doing it by hand do I apply it in a swirling motion or not? Just need to get this cleared up before I wax next week. Thanks!

I prefer doing it by hand. Use a side to side motion, not a swirl motion. A lot of technique depends on the wax used. Usually, you will apply it, let it dry, and then buff it off. What kind of wax are you going to be using?

I will be using nxt wax. I plan on claying first too. Should I use anything else before or after the nxt wax? Need to get rid of these damn swirl marks!

Edit: Is it ok to apply the wax with the applicator that comes in the box? (round sponge thing) Also should I use a mf towel to take the wax off?

Also I kinda scratched the trunk up a bit while removing the badge. Would 3m rubbing compound be good to use to get the scratches out?

Yes, the applicator is fine. Yes, use a good MF to get it off. Let the nxt dry (in the SHADE!) for about 30 minutes before you buff it off. You may want to spray some QD on it to make it easier if the haze gives you trouble. Don't top the NXT off for at least 24 hours, you gotta let it cure. S100 over NXT is amazing.

You will need a polish to remove the swirls

So what type of polish would be good to use? And I would apply it before the nxt correct?

Thanks for all the tips guys!

If you're talking about NXT tech wax, I believe that has some cleaners in it. I think some have found that they get better results applying it via PC than by hand.
