how strong is the pressure washer at those DIY place?

i sometime spray my car down when i dont have time to give it a full wash at the DIY car wash , which cost around $2.50. any one know how much pressure the gun they have there pump out? i was wonder how that would compare to a 2300 psi and 1.5 GPM power washer?

I've always wondered that also. Its different at each place but i can't imagine it being much over 1000 psi. They're not gonna give the public enough to blast off paint.
 
how much psi does it take to blast off paint???? what psi should i use to pre-wash my car before i use the bucket wash?

You can blast off paint with a water hose spicket if you try hard enough on the right paint job with defects.

As long as you keep a safe distance and use common sense you'll be fine with any psi from 1500-2500. Just don't get a inch away and try to blast a bug off. If you notice the front end of a car has many rock chips and whatnot its a smart idea to stay a foot away with the pressure washer.
