How often do you wash??

Just curious about everybody else. I wash my car at the very most, once a week, or every seven or so days. Most of the time I go 2 weeks. I would say I put 3 coats of Zaino on once a month, or around there. How often does everybody else wash, wax?

Yeah, when my car was outside I washed it once a week. Now, with the garage at home, at the 3 levels down in the garage at work, my car is protected from the elements all the time.

Anytime they are dirty and the forecast doesn't include more than a 30% chance of rain. I figure that means a 70% chance it won't.

My most washes on the same car is 3 times in the same day. After I had cleaned up the car, a yard sprinkler got me at a restaurant and a sudden shower did a number as well. The car was washed after each mishap. With 3 cars, all of which are drivers, I use lots of carwash soap. I buy Meguiar's Final Inspection by the gallon, and have 3 California Car Dusters.

Waxing is kind of by how the cars look to me that day. Probably each get waxed at least monthly.

My wife thinks I am insane, and the 3 times in one day washing seemed to contrubute to that opinion.

Once a week, depending on the weather, but my car is outside 24/7 with no protection from the weather.

Same here!!:xyxthumbs

Once we get to cleaning out the garage, it'll be down to biweekly!!

P.S. Z7 is the best wash ever!!!

It depends on the weather. I try to get in at least one or two good washings a week on the Maxima. Probably more dependent on weather. The reason I am so "anal" about that is because there is so much construction going on in the Chicago area. :D

Well, mine car wash cycle = my daily excercise routine! The reason I have to wash the car everyday, is that the air quality is very poor here, where there is a visible layer of dust/dirt at the end of the day. furthermore we have lots of poorly maintained commercial vehecles and construction in parts of the city, making a 30 minute drive into the city and back, a dirt and grime collecting event :).. If I were to lightly pass a damp cloth after this 30 minute drive in the city over the surface of the car the cloth collects black/dark color dust most likely exhaust emissions. If left there without washing for 1 week these particles will bond into the paint requiring more frequent cleaner/step 1 type detailing to get the car looking spiffy and the surface smooth again....

Besides the washing is great morning excercise! heh.

Does that Meguiars FInal Inspection stuff work better then the Gold Class soap? Also, how do you maintain your California DusterS? I have one and its starting to get *really* dirty. :(

Final Inspection, Gold Class Soap

Two totally different products. Final Inspection is a "Quick Detailer" and isn't intended for use on a truly dirty car. It is great for the water spots and rain showers that sometimes occur. I also use it after going over the car with the Car Duster. Quite often, I can do that 2 - 3 times before I feel I really need to wash the car.

The car duster cleaning consists of banging it against the side of the trash can periodically. The dirtier it gets, the better it works.

I seem to remember something about washing them with Woolite in the instructions with my first one. I have never washed any of mine and one of them is probably at least 12 years old. Some people don't like them, I think they are great.
