How often do you use a QD?

I have 2006 Honda truck (silver) and find myself using a variety of QDs almost every day. If I take it out of the garage I use a QD when I return. I use AIO and SG is my lsp. The QDs I have tried are include 425, Menzerna HGAS, a home brew of 3:1 distilled water and SG, Eagle One WS, Poorboys SG and SW and one or two others. Some days I will use one and some days another. The results I get from one to another are subtle at best.

So, often often do you all QD your vehicle and do you "mix and match" your QDs?

I am a QD junkie and I do it every day I can. The only thing that stops me is the rain, snow and too dirty a car. I always do it after I have finished driving for the day but I have been known to QD in the parking lot before work (get the bugs off) and at my lunch hour...... :soscared: Too much I know.

I do alternate between several different QD's. ClearKote's Quick Shine, Zaino Z-6, Wizards Mist and Shine, PoorBoy's Spray and Wipe,Meg's Final Inspection, Pro's QDS, Sonus Acrylic Spritz and Eagle One WW&S for now and I am always looking to add to the collection. I have FK's 425 on order now.

Certainly, there are subtle differences both is looks and slickness but I find myself coming back to Quick Shine and the Wizards Mist and Shine for their slickness and ease of use and PB's S&W for it's heavier duty action and cost effectiveness and the Z-6 when Zaino is on the car. I can't wait to try out the 425.

I gotta ask; when you QD the truck, do you do the bed also???

Only time I use a QD is after a wash. No QDing-instead-of-washing for me, I'm too worried about marring. No matter *how* I did it, I always got at least micromarring :(

Every hour on the hour and sometimes twice an hour on Sundays.... :chuckle: :p

I use mine post car duster (every other day) and sometimes after a wash to give some gloss and slickness back.

Same to me.

Ditto, Only QD after a wash.

After owining a black daily driven car I could see quite clearly the effects of daily quick detailing.

The only thing I clean frequently now is my glass and removing brake dust from my pricey wheels.

+5 on the after the wash vote --- The only time I want to touch a dirty/dusty car is when its covered in shampoo/foam and I have a quality sheepskin mitt in my hand.

Same for me, If my car is dusty or just been rained on I will leave it how it is until I wash it

I use Adam's Detail Spray after each wash and after I have removed my LSP. I use PB S&W if I need anything during a detail (either to remove polish residue or after I have clayed vs washing the car again).

Wash & QD weekly on both cars, then use NXT for removing any 'extras' I get during the week.

Just re-read what I typed, and by 'extras', it's really only bird-crap and any tar/grease/road grime, if any. Dusting, unless it's really bad, I'll leave until the next wash.

Funny I have this dilemma right now. I just did a proper wash of my daily driver last night. I washed with Meg's Gold Class shampoo and one of their *new* chenille mitts, and dried the car with a waffle-weave drying towel and a few shots of WAUD (anyone else here still using this stuff?). My impression last night was my wash was near perfection.

Anyway this DD gets parked outside overnight and when I got out to my car first thing this morning it was covered in POLLEN (or what I'm assuming is pollen...a fine yellow-ish dust).

I need to do SOMETHING to the car tonight to deal with this, or its going to drive me crazy. But not sure how best to deal with pollen.

My choices are:

- california duster

- PB's spray & wipe

- one of my better QD's like Quickshine or Final Detail.

OR

- a combination of above.

I'd prefer not to rewash the whole car, either normal or even QEW, if the result is going to be more of the same tomorrow (ie. more pollen).
