How obsurd does this sound?

In bed with your wife
I have plain ol' wheel covers: plastic. I figure the best thing for them is plain ol' soap and water, right? Then a polish and wax. Is that what anyone else would do?

Now, i've thought of taking some wheel cleaner to my steel wheels and then polishing and waxing them. Is that going overboard or am I right on target with the whole 'detailing' thing? ;)

Thanks for any feedback :D

No, polishing the wheels behind the plastic coers is not going overboard. :) But then again, we are a group of poeple who take this sort of thing to the extreme.

I think your process sounds fine.

1. Yes, that is going "overboard".
2. Yes, you are "right on target".
3. It will probably get worse.
4. Ain't it fun, though?
