how NOT to do touchup

If a full-size cargo van attempts to parallel park in the space currently occupied by your vehicle because it is too small to be seen or the cargo van driver is otherwise a moron, please do not resort to this touchup method:

Yes, I did that to my car after being hit while parked. Luckily they left a phone number and their insurance took care of it. That was over 2 years ago... I just stumbled across this and thought I'd share it.



I carefully masked off the door, door handle, window, etc and went at it with the spray paint... No graffiti artist here, that's for sure. I then proceeded to have my friends sign the door, like a cast. The guys at the body shop thought I was crazy, but really enjoyed it, too. Parked in the same spot a couple weeks later, some guy freaked out, thinking someone else had done it to my car



I had the shop save the door and mirror and it currently hangs on the wall in my basement office.



I also went a little wild with the spray on other things:

tpgsr: you better bet I was freaking out when I found the car like that and nobody returned my calls until late at night... I was all over my insurance (which, oddly enough, had lapsed JUST THAT DAY... ugh, turned out to be a bank error, but my insurance wasn't buying it). I calmed down a bit and waited for my shop to schedule me and went at it... I think I drove around like that for about 3 weeks.



I'm never gonna grow up, if I can help it.
