How much time do you spend on wheels?

When sorry if I'm understanding this wrong, when you guys say clean your wheels, do you guys actually yank out yer wheels and clean ehm in and out like 2wheelsx2 or do you snake around the wheel and spray and superblast the inside of the wheel with a cleaner and hose?

I put a coat of Meguiars #20 on my rims over the winter. Now that they are back on the car I usually wash the rims and tires seperately once or twice a month, putting a new coat of #20 on every month.

With #20 on my rims,I can clean them with just my normal carwash and a tooth brush for the tight areas. I don't use any special cleaners.

I have found that break cleaner fluid helps remove seriously caked on break dust. It isn't a good thing to use on painted wheels, but it gets the job done. Are there any other safer products that can remove dust from neglected wheels?

What wax do you use?

Meguiars carnuba...despite claims...ANY wax should do a better job of keepin wheels lookin better than no wax... i always question "special wax"...

and a month is bout the most time you will get between treatments...if its a daily driver with light to moderate commutes...also depends on weather..and brake dust conditions..

I agree that any wax is better than nothing, but since I have used #20 on the wheels, they pretty much just wipe clean. Unfortunately, the wheels I have don't allow me to clean all the way in and out without taking them off. I just clean what I can reach and see each time I wash, and when I get a chance (unfortunately, all too infrequently) I take them off and give them a good cleaning and seal them all up again. That'll change when I get some new wheels, maybe this summer. :)

just use a small 32 oz bottle with cherry suds mixed with what ever is on my shelf that I'm running out of. The best I've found is suds added with Meguiars bubble wash and little tire wet. Worked good. I guess I have too much time on my hands mixing stuff together doin test and all.....
