How much product do you use

How much product do you use on a vehicle detail?? I know it depends on the size of the vehicle you detail. In the last 2 week ends i detailed my brothers and my dads full size dodge ram 4x4 pickup trucks. I use SSR2.5 then SSR1 then sealed them with EX-P. In the 2 detailes i used about half the bottles of SSR2.5 and SSR1. I kinda think i am using too much but at the same time i think i need that much to get the product on the truck on see it working. Just would like to know how much other people use. At this rate i think i am going to need to order somemore soon.

Thanks,
Mark

Ive done 3 vehicles this month that required EX-P(Dodge Ram/Tahoe/Miata) and I have 3/4 bottle left over.. Cant really judge how much SSR is too much since you use what is needed to get the job done.

I agree on the SSR's. Without seeing, you can't say for sure (but 1/2 a bottle of each seems high to me-especially the SSR1, seeing as how you should have done the majority of the polishing with 2.5)
Half a bottle of EX-P is way too much, I think. On a full size chev ext. cab I used only an once to an ounce and a half.
Thicker doesn't get you more protection-just more work to remove.

On the 2 trucks i only used about 1/4 of the bottle of EX-P. I think i did use to much of the other products though. I have pictures of the 2 trucks of before and after and in the next couple of days i will post the pictures. This only the second time i used the PC and the products. I guess it is just going to take sometime for me to get used to how much product i should use. My dads truck is black and it was swirl city. I got it to look good and he was really happy with it.

I am not Usiing PB. I use Hi-Temp prducts. For me, the less product the better the results. Depending on what step I am on, just a small dab is all it takes.

It has a lot to do with the product too. I can get usually 15 coats out of a bottle of UPP, but I was only able to get about 10 coats out of a bottle of Wolfgang. So its not just the size of vehicle that matters. The product makes a big difference. I can get 50 or 60 coats out of a bottle of SG and at least 30 out of a bottle of AIO. We are talking midsize cars for the most part. Some little cars and some larger. I haven't used SSR2.5 and SSR1, so I can't really comment.

i dont use too much. basicaly i make a thin circle around the pad once, and thats good enough to do one panel. to be truthful with you, i havent used half a bottle of any product yet, because i keep buying more stuff!!!

The SSR2.5, and SSR2 are rather thick products compared to the SSR1, and probably won't go as far as the SSR1.

You are working on big vehicles there, and will use a quite a bit of polish to clean them up, especially if you are making multiple passes with the polish on some areas. However, I would say that a half a bottle on two vehicles might be a tad too much.

I recently polished my F150 SuperCrew with SSR2.5 (only on hood, and roof), SSR2, and SSR1 on the entire vehicle. I'm guessing that I used about 3 ounces of the SSR2, and about 2 ounces of the SSR1......... but that's only a guess.

Anyhow, if you feel you are working the products properly, and getting good results, I wouldn't worry too much about how much product you used. As you get use to working with the products, you'll use less and less.

definitely used too much, but if you got the results you wanted then as Boss said it really doesn't matter. I did a ext cab F250 with less than 2 ounces... there's always a learning curve with any new products and I'm sure you'll learn to use less the next time.:D Look forward to seeing the pictures:)
