I'm just wondering how much is too much?? Can you over clean a car?? I'm not sure but I think i'm on the edge of this.. I'm cleaning the baja. and I'm going NUTZ on her..

Wash
Bug sponge wash
wash again
dry

now this wil be one panel at a time

clay
SSR 2.5 (if needed)
SSR 1
PwS

Now the on trouble spot i can see out of all of this is the hood which I'm thinking of wet sanding with 3000 (there is one scrach that i can feel but i can alway see it.. ) then working my way back down..

I know it's alot and I will keep this truck for 10 years (this is a normal usage for me.)

am i going overboard???

man i didn't even go into taking the wheels off and cleanng them yet..:)

theres never to much washing, however there is to much swirl removing. When you grind down past the paint its to much. But you can never wash to much IF you was properly

Oh this was not a proper was by anymeans.. but who cars i needed to get that crap off my car. winter is over and the streetsweepers have done thier job..

Why does my car have to be such a pain.. I'm done for tonight.. after doing the back.. and one quarter.. I'm not sure what is up..
i still have some stary marks that will not come out.. I guess i'll have to just settle on being clost to perfect.. and not totaly swirl free. But let me tell you the paint is BRIGHT..

ARE you doing something illegal?
Are you hurting anyone?
Is someone going without because of it?
Are your bills paid?
Are you missing work?
Are you losing sleep? Never mind I do that. Disregard this one.

If the answer is *YES* to any of them(except the last one) You might be over doing it. Other than those items....GO FOR IT!!!

Just think of it as protectiong you investment. You spend thousands on that car, so take care of it. If you bought a picture for the same price u would keep it behind glase in a safe place, you would probley have a secerity system. Well its the same with a car, you cant hide it behind glass but you can put a nice coat of wax on it to protect it.

Hey man, you're gonna wax the paint off that car. Huh-huh, huh-huh. Mine's next, right?? :bubba:bubba:bubba

:lmfao :lmfao :lmfao You sound like half my neighborhood. All I can say is "Bring your wallet and a crowbar!" :boot

Seriously though, unless you're using a rotary and heavy polishes on a weekly basis, I doubt you'll eat all the way through that paint in 10 years' time. And if you do, there's always the paint shop!

The only thing I see wrong is you are calling a Baja a truck

I don't think 2.5 and 1 will take off *that* much...Twice to thrice a year should keep you at the 10 year mark on your clear. Have you thought about a paint gauge?
