How much does it take? Water Spots

Winter Hold in Effect

I detailed this today for a friend and some $$$ (hey I ain't Jesus, food on the table is important)

Anyway the picture below is a shot up close of the hood, after #83 (DACP) and #80 (Speed Glaze) and even some Scratch X. All were applied with the PC. Is there something I am doing wrong, or will some water spots not come out?

Any suggestions for the future?

Ah......Harwich!! I miss the Cape!! I just don't miss the traffic in the summer! From the looks of it, it appears you have some water spots etched into your paint. What type of pad did you use? I'd try a more aggressive pad & polish as well as some AIO.

I used all there pads, ending with NXT Tech wax. The picture was taken before NXT, but there wasn't much of a change after 2 coats of NXT. It was a customers car, and it looks awesome finished. Just the anal side of me really wanted to get rid of those spots.

Traffic sucks all year round, especially when you drive ambulances and firetrucks for a living. The flashing lights make you a target......

Clay may remove them , you could also try one of the paint decontamination washes ( ABC by Automotive International or Finish Kare ). Either of these systems will work on hard water spots.

if the PC is all you've got, maybe try out SSR3 and a light cutting pad. waterspots can be a major pain with a PC. the Sandwich Car Wash should have the entire SSR line on hand and shouldn't be too far for you in Harwich.

Wetsanding may be a bit excessive, If you had access to a rotary that would do the ticket with a good polish/pad combo.

i've always been able to remove water spots with h20/isoprop alcohol mix.. if they're embedded, may be a good idea to try the lube and clay, then hit with speed 6 on your pc and dacp.. ?

Try vinegar and water , if that doesn't do it the paint decontamination kit will get the job done.
