i just got my pc and was wondering ( on average ) how often you could use a pc per year for how many years, while using poorboys 2.5 and/ or dacp. i know there was a very good thread here awhile back where a guy was experimenting on a hood with a paint gauge, and using different products, etc. ?? i have 2000, gm vehicle.

I'd say that once you get your defects polished out, and with the proper wash methods, etc., it shouldn't be necessary to use an aggressive polish very often.
Without an ETG it is difficult to say how many times you can safely use DACP/SSR2.5. There are so many variables involved such as the thickness of your clear coat, paint hardness, type of pads used, polishing techniques, etc..
I don't think you have a lot to worry about, but once you get your paint polished out with something like DACP/SSR2.5 try using something like #80 or PI III MG for an annual/semi-annual maintenance if required before going back to something more aggressive.
